This is gonna kill the game right after the 3-week honeymoon period, mark my words. MK1 should have been a lesson to all that >50% unreactable combos are a death sentence. The combo damage had to be toned down a lot in Tekken 7 because of this, and yet they are just proving they can't learn a damn thing.

Nope, Tekken 8 is looking fine. You have a huge white recoverable health after a combo and also the combos are toned down in terms if damage. Cuz the health bars are longer now. In T7 u could kill with only 2 combos but in T8 one normal combo does 35% with recoverable health. So combos are severely toned down in terms of damage. Also, the combo u saw needs specific mechanics and also specific positioning like heat activated, rage, being in the correct distance to wall and also that combo is pretty difficult and by trying in competitive scene they will mostly drop it.

@@OMAIR_8928 I've seen plenty of non-wall, non-rage 50% combos all over youtube. This is why Tekken 7 was only 'heh' throughout it's competitive life. The stupid easy 50% combos held it back despite being an outstanding game. It's why SFV won that generation, and it's gonna be why SFVI wins this generation if the Tekken team doesn't tone down the combo damage before launch. I'm not saying they should nerf max combos to 30%, but it *HAS* to be

@7F0X7 SFV wasn't also too good from Tekken 7, it was around Tekken 7 a little higher. Tekken has always been more damaging and even if u saw 50% health combos, there is still heat mechanic which turns the entire round around and also the recoverable health. But ofcourse there will be lots of op things which people will discover and probably the devs will fix it.

Tekken 8 is gonna be the best fighting game of the world in 2024 and onwards though competitively it'll take a major blow as its quite casual friendly oriented (not a bad thing if moderately done so...)

@@tonisnooker With few exceptions of character, MK1's combos are extremely hard to do >40% consistently at least 9 times out of 10, especially in competitive play, and yet it's still the biggest game killer by far setting aside the monetization and bugs. I know because I did those several of those combos with 3 different characters. I didn't even like playing when winning because it felt stupid that I was essentially playing solitaire for ~15-20 seconds at a time any time I landed a single combo starter. Tekken 8 lets you do even more damage than that with every character. I know people are hyped and no one wants to hear negativity right now, but mark my words 3 week after launch the game is gonna fall off a cliff. The solution isn't 'make combos easier', the only sustainable solution is 'cap combo damage to something reasonable around ~35%.
