Defeated Tory minister Steve Baker tells Nick Ferrari that being an MP is a 'dreadful job' and is delighted to be 'set free' after losing his seat in Wycombe.
'I fought this campaign to win, I wanted to win, I wanted to go ahead and do my duty but I have to tell you, it is a dreadful job and I thank god I’m free. I will not be back,' the avid Brexiteer told Nick.

I am afraid he paid the price for being an advocate of the failed Brexit, and unlike others from outside the Conservatives who chipped in with 'I would have got a better deal if I had negotiated' he was with the Brexit group that had the power and were front and centre during the negotiations. Brexit has badly damaged Britain economically and made us surplus to requirements on the world stage, plus we have negotiated trade deals that are worse than we had being members of the EU, and all this has led to the British people being far poorer and with much lower living standards, so surely Steve can't be surprised he is now one of those paying the price for damaging Britain.
