They put more thought into Steve than 90% of the cast. They did a surprising amount of "research" into Minecraft and the character himself because they new the fans would eat them alive if they didn't.

There’s only one thing I noticed and it’s that he doesn’t have a bow and i know a lot of characters already have bows but it’s one of the biggest things a player can have, or at least a crossbow. And I think the wonder pearl would have been a better “up B” then the Electra, especially if you can control where the ended pearl goes

One interesting thing i found was that his up smash attack, the magma block, seems kinda op, but certain attacks can actually counter it. The Link / Young Link / Toon Link down aerial is actually a great counter for the magma block.
