In terms of accountants and money management, the best advice I’ve heard was from Magic Johnson. He pretty much said once you start earning a certain level of money, you need to have two sets of accountants. Make sure they don’t know each other. Have one do the books and have the other check the work for any errors, interesting trends, inconsistencies, etc. He said something similar about contracts

When you mentioned how we don't advance in life because we don't take risks, it really got to me. I'm 25 years old and my life is stagnant right now because I chose to not take risks which lead me to not move forward with my life and therefore not achieve what I want to achieve. You are right Kevin and Angel, yes sometimes life doesn't give you the best cards but I still could have played better, I could have taken risks. Sure I might fail but either way, I would learn and do better. I really love your podcast guys, you 3 give me joy and wisdom. Thank you
@La_Femme_Noir

I remember feeling this way at your age and that feeling doesn’t change unless you make changes yourself. Take some risks and don’t be afraid to fail, even at the smallest things. I am saying it like it’s easy, but it is not. It’s scary as hell for some people. It definitely was for me, but the more I did it, the more confident I became in taking those risks. The fear of failure didn’t go away, but the fear of trying did. It may be different for you, but at least try some of your ideas and look at every failure or loss as a learning opportunity so that you’re better for the next time.

To the Netflix issue. Of what we know, they are doing it by IP address. Both Kevin and Angel were on to something, but generally missing each other's point. It's not tied to a physical household, it's the IP address. All devices using your wifi will have the same IP address (without intentional changes). The issue is, what Angel is getting at, people's IP address changes all the time. If you use the wifi at Starbucks, if you're using your own data on your phone, if you go on vacation, etc. it changes. Also, phones and laptops periodically change IP addresses regardless of location. As much as they talk about people sharing passwords, over half of adults in the US has a Netflix subscription (52%). Basically, anyone who WANTS Netflix, HAS Netflix. This policy is a way to get people who are sharing, to get their own subscriptions. The goal for them is growth, but, when you think about it, you can't have limitless growth, you will never get 100% of anything, so instead of organically gaining more subscriptions, they're raising prices and taking such measures to force "growth"

For those who think 🤔 how was the accountant going to steal his IRS money. The accountant does the taxes and presents the amount due to Steve. Steve writes the check to the accountant to go pay. Here's the shady part. Big tax accounts can default and then "settle". So I think the accountant was holding back to default and then offer the IRS a huge one time settlement (which will be less than all that Steve had paid him). That way the accountant keeps the difference and none of the parties (Steve or the IRS ) is any wiser.

@@kjdnyhmghfvb yes, but also no. Rich folks have a higher percentage because they are in a higher tax bracket, but there are many ways of reducing taxable income and putting money in tax shelters and people with the most to lose tend to find ways to lose the least. Defaulting on the amount of tax you owe is an option for everyone with the IRS, but I don’t recommend it!

I wonder how will Netflix track mobile? If I'm watching at home and my husband and kids are watching at work, school, bus etc.. What about college students in different states?

TiKTok guy didn’t think that through. I hope it all works out for him. He should have done the experiment FIRST… recorded the content. Post the footage AFTER it was complete.

My mom did the sex talk, had gotten library books with charts on the human anatomy. My dad left the house blushing( he’s a chocolate complexion). My dad did have his own version though. Every time we would hold a baby, he would whisper in our ears , “ Don’t get used to that”. Then when we came home from college we had the most random and awkward conversation.
