Steve Hislop completed yet another double when he took victory in the Senior Isle of Man TT race on the RC45 Honda from Phillip McCallen and Joey Dunlop. Steve recording his eleventh and final TT win.

STEVE HISLOP SAID THE RC 45 WAS A BAD HANDLING BIKE IN HIS BOOK. HE SAID IT HAD A MIND OF IT OWN. IT JUST WENT WERE IT WANTED 2. SO 2 WINS ON IT WAS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. SO WAS HIS LAP RECORD IN 2002 AROUND DONNINTON ON THE DUCATI.

Hizzy had struggled to find a good set up with this RC45 throughout practice week. He had a real hairy moment just before Ginger Hall in one practice session. Think he may even have clipped the outside wall if memory serves me right. It was still a handful by the time race day arrived but come the hour cometh the man as they say. Do you remember the 2 factory Silkolene RVF's a few years earlier that Hizzy and Foggy rode? They were really special bikes.

@@howardosborne8647 YEAH HOWARD I REMEMBER THEM RVFs. I WAS WATCHING A OLD 1990 SUZUKA 8 HOUR ON U TUBE. IN THE RESULTS AT THE END FOGGY AND HIZZY WERE 20TH. I THINK. EDDIE LAWSON WON IT ON A TECH 21 YAMAHA. THEY 2 A THEM COULD GET THE BEST OF THEM RC30s/RVFs. JAMIE WITHAM HATED HIS ON THE 1990 SEASON.

@ZX-12R HIZZY COULD RIDE ANYTHING WHEN IT WAS SET UP RIGHT FOR HIM. A GREAT TALENT.

The man ,the technician, cruises it at the end and sets a lap record that wouldn't be beaten for 11 years , put that into context of improvement of bikes and faster lap times is broken every year. He held top spot 11 years , that's like turning up on a ten year old machine and beating the new modern models ,yeah just never happen unless the rider was in the moment with machine .it took another(funny) legend to beat it on a flying lap and next day from standing start ,sadly lost the next year, (rip DJ).I met the current holder ( hicky) with his dad when he was about 10/11 fiddling with some gadget being a Lil shy ,who knew I'd be chatting to the present TT lap holder when he just finished his mini bike racing and we where chatting about his previous year machine .his dad was a nice guy ,always made an effort to chat when he could .boy did PH come out of his shell now reaping his dad's efforts to bust his balls to be the best

They've been releasing these videos to coincide with the classic TT/Manx Grand Prix fortnight as Steve Hislop was one of the main "themes" of the Classic TT this year. There was a tribute lap last Saturday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Steve breaking the 120mph lap barrier. As this video highlights his 11th win I'm guessing it'll be the last Steve Hislop related video you'll see uploaded for a while.
