Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.
Steve Jobs is directed by Academy Award® winner Danny Boyle and written by Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin, working from Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography of the Apple founder. The producers are Mark Gordon, Guymon Casady of Film 360, Scott Rudin and Academy Award® winner Christian Colson.
Michael Fassbender plays Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award®-winning actress Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The film also
stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh
development team.

Great acting by Michael Stuhlbarg playing Andy Hertzberg. Man, he looked like a beaten animal. But sounded smart and caring and wise. Great writing. No one else could have pulled off that vibe so well. He starred in A SERIOUS MAN and wore the same expression of a smart man dealling with the unfairness of life. Bravo. Michael!

Not sure Fassbender was the right choice tho, Jobs had Middle Eastern heritage.

This movie is very musical to me. It's ability to be so aware of tensional networks and to punctuate on them in a way that doesn't exhaust the viewer, is mind-blowing.

0:52 the fact that he was able to put his own personality, his own shortcomings and wonderful attributes into this technology, in the same way a writer or an actor is able to funnel themselves into their work... it was a true marriage of function and art.

Hey, I saw both films about Steve Jobs, Ashton Kutcher's, and Michael Fassbender's. Both are fascinating to me in their own way. Kutcher's goes into detail about the founding of Apple, but tries and fails to capture the emotion of most of his relationships, especially that with his daughter Lisa. It DOES succeed of the one with Woz. However, Fassbender's juggles what appears to be 3 separate events, but is actually a full, in-depth look at Jobs, his relationships, the founding of Apple, and manages to capture all 3 balls perfectly. That's why I favor Fassbenders

They didn't put in anything from Elvis Mitchell? That's like inviting Michael Jordan to a game of pick up basketball and not passing it to him.

Unfortunately, there wasn't any intelligent commentary here, just platitudes. Long gone the days when directors and actors really put thought into their craft and could verbalize it.
