The Professionals were probably the nearest we ever got to hearing how a second Pistols album might have been. Try to imagine some of these tracks with John on vocals and Glen on bass... Electric

I think Lydon said Branson called him in and asked what he thought of doing vocals on the songs. You can guess the answer!
@dee_seejay6 ай бұрын
You're right, you know. A second Pistols lp could've been a world-beater, continuing in the vein of previous darker material such as *_New York._* Then again think about what Lydon was doing at the same time with PiL. With all due respect no wonder he wanted nothing to do with this. And they can take the piss all they want out of Adam Ant et al but The Professionals weren't doing anything new, their sound was a little reactionary in comparison to the best of the new breed. One group of original punkers who *_were_* doing something much more compelling with a similar set up to this were ex-Generation X guitarist Bob Andrews and Mark Laff's band, named *_EMPiRE,_* who released an album called Expansive Sound in 1983, re-released in 2009, worth checking out, has something in common with Killing Joke but more melodic. Stands up well today.

The poster in the background right at the beginning of this film was the cover of the Professionals second single '123' which was released in October 1980.This film therefore is NOT 1979. it is late1980 at the earliest. Apart from that,a great little snapshot of the band.

Correct, plus Adam & the ants, and Spandau Ballet were only just hitting the top of the UK charts at the end of 1980, really we're talking at least 1981.
