Steve Perry is living proof that celebrities are human, have human problems and conflicts. He had to step down for his own sake, it wasn't to be the jerk leaving the band for no reason, it was because he was burnt out and many other reasons I'm sure within the band. Can you really blame him? He's a very honorable and respectable man, he kept a promise to his late girlfriend that he wouldn't hide after her impending passing. He found his love for music because of Kelly, God rest her soul. I'm so glad he's back, I couldn't blame him for staying away from the spotlight for so long, and I still couldn't blame him if he didn't create Traces after Kelly passed. Strong man, he truly is that... God bless him, his music, his late girlfriend, and whoever may be reading this in a few minutes or maybe in the coming years/decades or what have you.

That was Don’t stop believing in Houston in 1981 and my husband was so so lucky to be at that concert. They were filming for MTV :) my husband and I saw Steve, front row, in Dallas and my ears are still ringing from that, but it was so worth it! I hope that he tours or has some type of meet and greet, so many people love him and he sure had an impact on my life! I also lost a loved one to cancer in 2012, my dad. My husband and I went to high school in the 80’s and that is were we were crazy about Journey! We have been wondering where he was for all of these years. I am so glad that he is back!

"I don't think a heart is complete unless it is completely broken." One of the truest statements I've ever heard. Steve is an ACTUAL MUSICAL ICON that will go down in the history books. The fact that he is beyond humble and stepped away because he recognized things, proves he had the gift and simply didn't want/need the Hollywood stardom or attention that EVERYONE WANTS today... with no talent. Steven Perry actually has a once in the lifetime gift and talent, and if you have that gift and don't treasure it, it will get lost as he said in all the vapid fakeness that is Hollywood. He is the real deal. I've noticed that pattern with any remaining music genius'... Prince, etc. anyone who had the talent eventually gets to the point where the MACHINE either kills them if they don't step away, or turns them into something they never wanted, so they simply become reclusive, they have nothing to prove to anyone..

Wow,I loved that statement,” Your heart isn’t complete until it’s completely broken” ,that was really profound in my opinion,I love this man he literally saved my life ,I was in an abusive relationship for five years ,it was verbal, mental and at times physical,at night I would lock my door, put my head set on,and listen to Journeys greatest hits when Steve was the front man,or put his solo albums on,and that lovely mellow voice would lull me to sleep and I knew I could make it another day,he’s had a tragic life but he’s still a humble sweet man,I’m glad he’s making music again .

Debbie Minton Well not like it was in the 90s, mine was like that too but at 52 i find it too hard to take care of, now i keep it right to where it just touches my shoulder's, no Mullet lol. It's stylish for long hair not a horse tail. Many rockers i grew up with still have their hair. a few cut it off (going bald don't count, then you have no choice unless you go to the "Bosley center" lol) that look terrible like Eddie Van Halen and James Hetfield. I just saw a new video on Iron Maiden's singer Bruce Dickenson, he's growing his hair back and is in his 60s and looks younger with his hair longer. Steve should grow it out a little it's too short. Imo he don't fit short like long, maybe if he was a lawyer or weather man lol

I love this... finding his passion for music again after all he has gone through. It just gives me hope that even as we get older life is still worth living and there are wonderful things ahead.

Everybody's going to be really happy to hear Steve. Steve I hope you do the music you want to do. I hope you do it as Steve Perry. Not as some part of somebody else's agenda that treats you like a worn-out part. Cool is the rule.

GLAD he is back. Just an amazing singer. You don't get the handle "THE VOICE" for nothing. Explaining his situation as almost PTSD is understandable. It's a tough life being a superstar. Everyone thinks is glamourous and easy. It's not. Lots of hard work. Then touring EVERYWHERE!! EVERYONE at some point needs to rest and relax, regain your composure. He had several other physical problems along the way and TRUELY needed to STOP!! WE fans didn't want that but Steve knew what was best for him. I'm just glad to hear that "VOICE" again.

When Steve left Journey, that was the end of Journey for me. Steve WAS Journey and glad we has healed from the past and glad he's back. So sorry for his loss of his girlfriend. That was tough I am sure

My little Stevie boy is his own man, I personally feal when you find yourself dragging your heals, its always going to be s slippery slope to something heart breaking, Kelly dident die for you to become reclusive, don't you think she would have faught tooth and nail to stay with you, I've realized at the ripe old age of 54 that its not all about me, god simply must come into the equation after presenting you with such a wonderful talent, you were beautifully blessed with a woman who obviously knew you well, xxxx

Y'all all calm down. Steve just said he has no problem with the song or Journey. Let it go people. I do agree Journey had some songs that were way better in my opinion and that are dearer to my heart. Let's just all be grateful he had a great love and he has found his way back from the grief and from the burn out of the music industry. Great new music & still such huge talent! Loved him & his music for most of my life and always will!
