Fantastic, Thx! Comment: If you fly in the winter where it is cold, you absolutely need to have a primer system installed. A friend from southern Oregon asked me to fly his cub from Homer to Oregon- which I gladly did. However, I spent the night in Whitehorse (end of April) and with temps @ 30 degrees (with 25 mph wind) I ended up hand propping the 150 hp I figure 70 times! The accelerator pump had raw gas dripping out of the air filter, but I couldn't get any atomized fuel into the cylinder to fire (and I had no ether). Even though I was dressed in a cotton flannel shirt, I was sweating when I finally got it started! In Oregon the temps are high enough the accelerator pump was enough for a cold start, but in Alaska you really need a primer system or 3 or 4 buddies taking turns hand propping the thing!

Rotating the spark plugs does increase longevity. Because of the way the mags are geared on the back of the motor one mag fires positive to negative and the other negative to positive (tip to electrode or vice versa basically). Wears the plugs more evenly when rotated.

Fantastic Steve! Thanks. You began to talk about your procedure to inspect the left side of the stock muffler without removing the left stack, but i believe you got sidetracted?
@stevepierce4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the only way I know to inspect the left side is to remove the exhaust pipe.

Why don’t you hire a part time snappy well vetted youth to help you? Are your kinda cheap? We get that impression....why not have the lad handle the tedious and you know what I’m talking about..teach him and pass on valuable knowledge ...years. Of that interactions is a gift and a joy in itself. Pay him well and keep him around... you would be surprised just how well it works.. I’ve seen it first hand ,hell I was one!....I say this in all seriousness cause u sound stressed out and maxed in all the wrong places
