Bobby lives in London, England, and is married to Sylma, with whom he has three children. He has seven siblings and an identical twin brother called Steve, who is married to Julie. They also have three children.
Bobby and Steve are international DJs and music promoters and have been on the Soul, Disco and House scene since 1984. After returning from a gig in Madrid, Spain, in March 2020, they contracted COVID-19 and were both placed in an induced coma and on ventilators.
Bobby was hospitalised for seven days and has made a full recovery. Steve, however, was in
a coma for 21 days and developed a very rare progressive syndrome called Acute Haemorrhagic
Leukoencephalitis (aka Hurst disease) which is a demyelinating disease of the nervous system.
Steve is currently being cared for at a neurological care home in Surrey.
Family and friends have been organising numerous fundraising events, raising money for Steve’s future care and to adapt his family home so he can slowly start to come home at weekends and then fulltime.
