This high-energy 2006 version of the Dizzy Gillespie/John Lewis composition “Two Bass Hit” features Andy Fusco (January 31, 1948-April 5, 2021) on alto sax. We all loved Andy Fusco. On stage his playing was consistently inventive and inspired, off-stage he kept us laughing with his incredible sense of humor. In addition to Andy Fusco on alto, Jazz Legacy had a powerhouse line-up featuring tenor-titan Walt Weiskopf, pianist/orchestrator Mark Soskin and the dynamic groovemeister Baron Browne on bass. - Steve Smith

Tell us the secret of you are being happy all the time ? Even when you practice in the old days and these days you have this satisfied mellow look on your face, I have depression and anxiety and I always feel sad, just tell me how you can stay happy and smiling or even giggling most of the time?? Hope you are always happy and laughing !! You are a great mentor and the best drummer in the world 🌎 huge fan!!!

Thanks so much Steve for putting up this video in tribute to the great Andy Fusco. I saw Andy Fusco live so many times with the Buddy Rich Big Band and Andy like Buddy and you,give 100% to the music. I also saw live your band Steve in Tampa,Florida with Steve Marcus and Andy Fusco do an amazing show! You are a great drummer and band leader who always have the best musicians playing music that is so exciting to listen to.I`m so glad I got to meet Andy Fusco many times and he was one great musician as you know who gave it his all in every performance. The way you all played "Two Bass Hit" with feeling and made the music feel so good and so exciting to listen to is what a great band is all about.Andy Fusco will be missed,but thanks to video`s like this,we all can still hear what a great musician he was!
