It never ceases to amaze me how technically AND theoretically accomplished these guys are in real life. It is so easy to get deflected by the appearances and hoohah. So I just love it when they get to showcase the real musical expertise that underpinned their careers - thanks to all these KZfaq channels that spoil us with their expansive content

Yeah, always love Steve. Not sure what you consider theoretical? I don’t believe he mentioned anything theoretical regarding. But he knows what he wants to play, and how to get a gnarly tone. 😝🤘🏻🎸🇺🇸

He grew up in Far Rockaway part of Queens Ny. He was a childhood friend of a Friend of mine name John that owned Fountains of Paradise Studios in Astoria. I actually hung out with Steve at a video set I worked on In Astoria, an old Movie theater. The video was flesh for fantasy in 83-84.He’s really a stand up guy and a goodfella besides being a Awesome guitar player

How on earth did I not understand how incredibly skilled Steve Stevens was until now? Amazing, and 1000% not shown for his skill in the slightest. I would love a chance to get a guitar lesson from Steve Stevens. I also wouldn't mind knowing the entire pedal setup to get that sound out of a guitar while both having that perfectly clear tone with distortion.

With Billy Idol, his Blue Highway bridge and then that outrageous solo at the end is absolutely EPIC... best Chuck Berry influenced solo I've EVER heard. Classic. The guy is a monster rhythm stylist, and I think greatly underrated. He demonstrates here he is also a thinking musician as well. Very impressive.

I like his sound always have. S Stevens seeks to get the most out of every chord the same as EVH did and many many others creating heavy but still as very melodic. Me too on my level and it has always been an hard task in explaining what I am asking for when it cames to sound/gear. Most guys will say -yeah I got it ROMPF ROMPF ROMPF like an Drill Hammer this one will awake everyone up to two blocks away! Ehhh..yeah right...

One of my lasting impressions of Steve is from a show AP did at Club Soda in Vancouver. Massive hair backlit by smoke and lights for an entrance, and a killer set that included an extremely loud blast of noise as a musical interlude. A formative experience for me lol

Stiv Stevens plays the guitar well, and the inventor has earned respect as a musician, but the question arises why he paints his nails and has a cocky lump of hair on his head, so unexpected that he does not attract public attention and does not need to be told about it. He is free and looks the way he likes?
