Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

Yeah! Have loved Steve Vai since he started in Frank Zappa’s band, especially his perfect matching of Frank’s vocal in The Dangerous Kitchen. Have y’all seen Mr. Vai’s one hand guitar composition Knappsack that he recorded after he had shoulder surgery?

I always love how Steve Vai plays his guitar with such fluidity and expression. This is a new one for me so I appreciate you guys reacting to it. I forgot how long his career has been and how great his playing is and this song really showcases his amazing talent.

The 7th Song, Enchanting Guitar Melodies (Archives Vol. 1) is a 2000 album by guitarist Steve Vai. It is his first compilation album, but unlike a standard "greatest hits" or "best of" album, all of the songs on it (save for the three new tracks and the hidden track) can be found on one of Vai's previous albums as the 7th track. The 7th track on each of his albums is meant to be the most emotional and well articulated piece on the album. "Christmas Time is Here", while not previously released on a Vai album, can nonetheless be found as the 7th track on the 1996 Christmas compilation, Merry Axemas. The new songs on this album are "Melissa's Garden" (which does occupy the 7th track), "The Wall of Light", and "Boston Rain Melody". The track for "Boston Rain Melody" continues on to contain the unlisted song "Warm Regards", the instrumental finale to Vai's 1996 album, Fire Garden. It is believed that Vai originally planned for the song to be the seventh track of the second disc, but when he discovered 80 minute CDs, he restructured the album to fit on one disc.

Like you said Nick, when you listen to a Steve Vai song, he takes you on a journey, takes you to another place. “Warm Regards” is off his Fire Garden album which is amazing. One of the other songs on there that stood out to me is called “Hand on Heart”. Also check out his “Alien Love Secrets” album and “The Ultra Zone” album. One of your other viewers mentioned a song he came up with after having shoulder surgery called “Knappsack”. His surgeon’s name was Dr. Knapp. So after surgery, his right arm was in a sling (sack). So not being able to pick or strum with that hand, he came up with an instrumental using only his fretting fingers which is AMAZING. And entitled it Knappsack. The video is on KZfaq. Thanks for doing those, haven’t listened to Steve in a while! Cheers! 🎸

Yes! Exquisite, sublime guitar and reaction. Nick’s tears are food for our musical souls. Not only was Devin Townsend singing for Steve Vai on Sex and Religion in 1993, 20 years later in 2013 Devon created and performed a 2hr 40min one-time theatrical concert show at The Royal Albert Hall in London called Retinal Circus and had Steve Vai on huge-screen video deliver the opening, closing, and between-segments narration to tie it all together. One of a kind event. A DVD that I promise you will someday own. Steve supported and helped to launch Devin’s career. Don’t worry. I have a plan over the next year or so for you to get Addicted! to Devy. There is simply no one like him. But we have time. You still have so much already to discover. It’s really an embarrassment of riches.

Have heard a little Steve Vai growing up but to be honest only really experienced him when he played for David Lee Roth during his solo albums. That said Yankee Rose is such a cool rock song worth reviewing. I guess I wasn’t too into instrumental progressive artists as much then. The dude’s talent level is off the charts

Hi, What I love about Steve Vai is he was taught to play by Joe Satriani who is an incredible guitarist with amazing albums, It was a story of the student who became the Master. I first saw him on the brilliant music video "Yankee Rose" by David Lee Roth and he was incredible. Next I saw him in the wonderful movie "Crossroads" as the Devils Prodigy guitar player although he didn't appear until the final part of the movie he totally dominated the screen. Then I bought his albums. I love his playing but I must admit - Joe Satriani I prefer his albums, as his tone + playing is ...erm ?...how can I put this ? More down to earth. Just listen to "Flying In A Blue Dream" from the album "Big Bad Moon" & hear that track too. Wow ! ! Joe's guitar playing has a deeper softer tone. Having said that, these two tracks are soooo good ! Thankyou for another great reaction.....[footnote ; "For the love of God" is probably the greatest guitar track ever recorded - absolute genius & he can play note for note perfect - live ! Incredible ]

I _heard_ Steve Vai for the 1st time on a local college radio station when "Flex-able" was released. And it was "The Attitude Song" that BLEW me away. I even played it for some guys at a music store that was close to my job back then, and they thought it was "fake" with a lot of studio "trickery" :P Yet he plays it LIVE almost every show (its great to watch him play it with Mike Keneally). I remembered his name because of Guitar Player magazine that had a cover story of Frank Zappa, and their was a sub-article entitled "Frank Zappa's Italian Virtuoso" :). I LOVE his debut album (which I have all the variant covers) and "Flex-able Leftovers (ep)" because its full of the "Humor" that I'm into. Seen him 3 times at G3 shows and met him with Steve Morse at a Dixie Dregs show (Bring 'em Back Alive Tour). He is a very humble guy, but on stage, he is another animal altogether. *Warm Regards* makes me cry, it was yet another track in a Instrumental playlist I made for my ex (who was into the same music) . . . wow, I've forgotten what it meant to me and her, and what it made me _feel_ about her :'). I think I just got punched in the gut. That was Vai's son Julian that says "Buh Bye" at the end ^_^. Vai was also great with "Alcatrazz", it was cool to hear him focus on songs and held-back just a bit to fit within the tracks. Btw - the album "Cover" art used is from "Various Artists - Archives Vol. 4"; "is a collection of songs Steve Vai has contributed to other projects and records". I met the artist at the San Diego Comic Con and his name is "Ciruelo Cabral" from Argentina. Awesome Fantasy artist to checkout.

I love it. He has a number of wonderful music that definitely takes you into other realms of deep conciousness. For me some of those songs are: Touching Tongues Gentle Ways The Riddle Hand on Heart Frank Blue Powder Lovely Elixir Sisters Windows to the Soul - (my personal favourite) Enjoy and hope to see more great reactions of the living legend Steve Vai.

I also own some Steve Vai albums but not this one, this was a first time listen for me also ( now 3rd or 4th) So beautiful especially Warm Regards. I have been waiting for you to return from Mexico so I could ask Nick if he had heard of a prodigy French guitarist named Tina Setkic since he really knows a lot of guitarists. If he hasn't & you have time do a search for Tina S on you tube. She has a lot of covers of guitars players that Nick has expressed admiration for including Mr Vai. Her cover For the Love of God has actually made me emotional
