This brings me to tears every time I hear it. Reminds me of my father. He was my guitar hero my entire life before I lost him. He was responsible for my music career, starting in 1986. This was his most favorite instrumental song ever. It was the song he asked me to play the night he passed away. I'll never get over how beautiful this piece of music is. ❤️

My name is Douglas Rollins, I've been playing drums for 50 years. I think with all my heart and soul you are the best guitar player in the world. I've played Van Halen, Jimmie Hendrix, Eric Clapton and you are the best . Please let me please play with your band at least once before I die. I'm 58 now but can still rock my balls off!

Am I the only one who is thinking that that sounded like a conversation with whales? For me, it was spiritual and THAT'S where it took me, thank you Steve Vai :)

This song makes me cry. It hurts the soul thinking about my father that I lost last year to this awful COVID. He died alone in the hospital and it has scarred me for life. Through this song, the pain that I feel, I hope my father feels the love I had for him and that I tried and tried but couldn't make it to be by his side during his last moments. I hope he knowsI tried and that I love him.....and that this song is dedicated to him....

He played this when I saw him live in Glasgow. It was just one of the warmup songs but let me tell you, it was a godly experience. Small venue, close to him. Actually seeing him live is something else, that’s when you fully appreciate his ability and the beauty of this song. The entire audience was transfixed, it was glorious. I can still feel the same chills in my spine from that day when I hear it now. Mesmerising, truly one of my greatest experiences.

Stevie Vai...guitar god. It doesn't get much better or much more real and authentic than this. Straight from Steve's soul to yours.

❤️🔥 WOW, I saw this for the 1st time today and, as usual, was completely blown away by the performance! I’m going on 70, and only recently ‘discovered’ Steve Vai by accident (looking for SRV’s music instead), but it’s one of THE BEST music search ‘mistakes’ I’ve made to date. Not only is it the talented 🎸 playing, but that in combination with his emotional and unique style that sets him apart from so many others imo. IDK what genre I’d even consider him to be in, but think he’s in his OWN! Another bravo 👏 👍 performance of SO many❗️

this man puts every fiber of his being into every single one of his notes, something extremely rare, but extremely brilliant.

It's fitting that the name of this song is "Whispering A Prayer" because the sound truly is an utterance to God which cannot be inspired by anyone besides Him. Thank you Steve for expressing your heart in this most beautiful and passionate way. And may God hear your lovely whisper.
@forrestogden7600
When he plays, he more or less converts the guitar into an extension of himself, and he is so good that he already knows what the note sounds like before he plays it, his expressions show his mastery.

As a student of steve vai, he is the kindest and genuine guy. Hart if gold and his music is a reflection of him. A good hard working honest man who makes sound on an instrument and we get happy and smile.music is about feeling somthing and his music always captured that. I hope one day my art can transcend and touch as many lives as his music has. Am honored to have called him a teacher, but bless to call him a friend. Thank you steve. You help me keep going ever day!!

Recently lost my mother. Steve Via's music brings me to tears but gives me comfort.

Incredible. It sounds like a hybrid between a guitar and an organ. Never heard anyone play a guitar that way. Such awesome control.

My cat is impressed with this guy's ability on guitar. He licks the speakers on Steve's solos!
