I'm deeply sorry to hear about your sons passing. Just know that he is in Gods loving arms right now. Probably playing guitar for my Mom. My Mom passed Jan 2010 from brain cancer. Life is so short and I love that you guys are living out something that you are truly passionate about. Music is amazing on so many levels. I agree with Kel , people used to say to me how can you listen to metal, nothing but banging, screaming and loud crap guitar. My response is how can you not listen to metal. Precision instrumentation, amazing vocals, harmonies, unreal timing. Truly talented musicians. Hold your son close to your heart and soul and keeping on exploring the world of metal. Big fan of you guys. Take care and God Bless.

Wow....just wow! Thanks for sharing this 'personal' journey Kel (& thanks Rich for encouraging this!) I'm sorry that musically, you were repressed prior to this - it brinks on cruelty! There is such a wonderful world of music, not just classical, not just metal, funk, psychedelic, prog, pop, electronic - with magic in all of it!! I can't truly tell you how many pieces of music can bring me to tears (yup, I'm that kinda guy) - I, like you Kel, feel music, and if it gives me that feeling, then emotions take control. Sometimes it's the piece itself, sometimes it's tied to a personal experience or more importantly to someone (just ask my wife - especially when she's playing piano - but she's been as much of an influence on my tastes as I am to here - she's the alternative chick, I'm the metal/classic rock dude). Music has that ability to touch the soul! Keep up that journey, and enjoy EVERY moment of it!

With Kel's musical backround, this is sure to be a real treat for her (and you too Rich) and it's funny to see how well (quality) shred meshes perfectly with an orchestra. You guys rock. Loved the guitar duel song, fucking A+. Love Vai, he's so good even his prodigy's rock. How do make requests on your channel? I have some some requests /suggestions. Kel I totally get you. Without metal I'd have prolly killed my self as a teen. The thought crossed my mind more than once. Luckily I found the empathetic words and music in songs like "Metallica's "Fade To Black" and realized "if they got through these feelings so can I. I an now a wonder junkie and an artiest and fan of great art in all its forms. I have some poetry and stuff I'd love to share with you. Peace, love, and empathy.

Just a small friendly advise: I know that it is tempting and quite understandible to close your eyes while listening to the music, but in the case of Steve Vai you are missing out on half the enjoyment. I would like to add that I really appreciate your reactions and your openness. Best wishes!

Kel, I think the entirety of Yngwie Malmsteen's debut album (Rising Force) would be perfect for you, since you're a classical musician. It's influence on metal guitarists cannot be understated.

Just for the record, this was not his debut album. He also played before (1984) with Alcatrazz. Search on youtube and you will find some songs. Hiroshima Mon Amour is one of my favor. Amazing vocals from Graham Bonnet !!!

@@truth4all01 Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force is his debut as a solo artist. His debut as a guitar player for the whole world was Steeler. I love his guitar playing on the one album he did with Steeler, and he left the band quickly after recording the album and joined Alcatrazz for the No Parole For Rock N Roll album and the live album Live Sentence which both are amazing. He was so amazing that he was destined to be a solo artist and he has put out many amazing albums ever since. Marching Out is the album that got me into Yngwie Malmsteen back in the late 80's , and he has been my all time favorite guitar player ever since.

Steve Via is considered to only True Master of the guitar! You can look this up yourselves. He plays things thatno one know how to write down because they have never heard anything like some of the stuff he does. Guitar Magazine and Guitar World both had big articles about his playing and both said the same thing, he is the true master!!!!
