it’s always interesting learning about something you know nothing about, from someone who can teach you everything about it. my father use to tell me “everyone you meet is your superior in some way” which is very true if you’re happy just to listen. also in terms of palatable old food. in 1979 an extremely well preserved bison was discovered & later believed to be 55,000 years old. it was so well preserved the paleontologist team cooked some of it into a stew. eating meat 22 times older than the earliest pyramids really blows my mind it’s hard to imagine a timeframe so large because it’s not on any human scale our brains can’t really fathom it

Hey Sinatra, great video. I have checked out Steve’s videos before, going to get back to watching them. My stepdad served four tours in Vietnam as a US airborne Ranger, and he was there when the military started taking cigarettes, and all tobacco products out of the rations. he got back to base, and asked his CO why they are no longer giving out tobacco rations, and his CO told him this. Cigarettes are found to be dangerous for one’s health, and my stepdad told him I guess the bombs, and bullets aren’t dangerous enough?

What a cool shaving kit! I would love to own one of them in the future. My Rockwell R1 safety razor finally came in, and the shave was immaculate. From the high fat and slick lather to the actual shaving, which didn’t tug on my hair like cartridge razors did my whole life. Gotta’ love it.

That was one of my first vintage razors I bought. Idk exactly what year it was from but its identical. Didn't have any WW1 stuff with it but it is hands down one of my best shaving razors in my collection. Fantastic razor. I also have one but brass? or brass colored. I've never used it because the top cap is tweaked. It will be headed for Razor Emporium one day.

Sinatralennon, I too love history and time capsules. In my state of Nebraska, there is a time capsule in Seward Nebraska about to be opened next year. I have had my share of MREs while being in the Army, I never drank the coffee. I am not a coffee man. I do recall in the modern MREs that they had charms candy in some of them. Thanks for the nod! Two comments: 1. Trying the old coffee. You are braver then me. 2. Welcome the forgetting of something that you should remember without a problem but don't phase of your life, like alum. It's still there but the it's as if the pathway to the word is scrambled and your brain is not able to locate the correct way to access the word, image, thought, whatever. It's frustrating or comical depending on the circumstances.
