Great video Steve. Some lovely fish, I had an encounter similar, lifted into what a thought was a fish and when I got it nearer the net it was an otter which had grabbed a carp of about 6lb which I had hooked!! Carnage at 5 oclock in the morning...
@stevebriggs46386 жыл бұрын
That's certainly different!!!!!

Thanks Lewis - and very well done on the PB mirror!! It's big enough mate - comments like yours are the reason I keep making these blogs!!!! The Cassien one is in the process but is being put together by the Nash team, it takes longer but they do a much better job than I ever could... :-)

well done that man ,i bet that is a first for a angler to have a screaming run of a roe deer, by the way it looked all of 70lbs
@stevebriggs46386 жыл бұрын
First time for me that's for sure!!!!

I bet if you actually went up there and fished from the bank at the far end of the lake rather than boat your rigs 400yds from the comfortable chalet swim you'd get a lot more indication and maybe convert many more takes that you never knew you had as the fish get away with it on such a huge amount of line out. Sacrifice a bit of comfort for the chance of more fish on the bank 😉 That poor deer....hope the hounds didn't lynch it as it exited the lake! 🤤
@stevebriggs46386 жыл бұрын
Lol yes in an ideal world. It's only around 140 yards to where I was fishing and after changing the rig every indication was a fish on the bank. I actually ended up getting more at the dam end just to my right. But the main reason for fishing that swim was that Joan had broken her leg a couple of weeks before and had to be close to the house and facilities and also needed my help getting backwards and forwards so at that time the venue and swim were our only real options - and it didn't turn out too bad :-)

Hi steve I'm fishing badgers holt next June any advice M8 thanks
@stevebriggs46386 жыл бұрын
Just keep watching where the fish are, they could be on the far margins or in the middle and don't be frightened to use a bit of bait, my best results have come from putting in 2kg or 3kg around each hook bait - pellets hemp and boilies :-)
@kellyc63286 жыл бұрын
Hi steve I've been watching your video on badgers holt with the amazing jo jo what a fish,I've done my resurch and is it all silt bottom? How did you fish in the silt many thanks.nathan
@stevebriggs46386 жыл бұрын
The big lake Serreire is more silty, Badgers Holt is a little silty but nothing extreme I just used my normal rigs and approach on there
@kellyc63286 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks steve hope your fishing is going to plan keep up the great work tight lines m8
