Love the very minimal use of cymbals on Steve’s demonstrations. Others tend to play cymbals too much, when we’re trying to hear the drums mainly.

I agree on the tom mounts as well. Too much hardware! but Steve offers the old rail bass drums system mounts for the 8x12 tom. And yes I would like to see this series offered in a 14x20 & 14x22 bass drum. Gretsch have you got your ears on.

Sorry about the double tapping mr. Maxwell but Gretsch needs to offer 22 24 and 26 in bass drums I'm sure they would sound awesome even if you are not playing them thank you once again sir you are truly an asset to the drumming community

Great playing as always. What i'd like to find out is whether an 18" usa custom is really comparable to the round badge... Or would it be better to find an older usa custom jasper 18 for far cheaper?

Drums sound GREAT! I have a feeling Steve hates Drum Dials, but I sure would like to know what the head settings are, just so I could compare to what I am using. However, don't care for any of the Satin finishes that apparently are the hot thing now.

Can use it for lots of various applications. Certainly not for stadium rock of course, but can work. Dave Garibaldi uses a 20” bass drum with Tower of Power

can someone tell me the differenve between the new classic, brooklyn and usa customs...I have a new classic now..and besides that its made overseas i'd like to know what makes brooklyn and usa much more expensive..different wood?..also would a 20x16 kick suffice for a jazz setting..bop all the way to contemporary jazz?

USA Custom: 6-Ply Maple/Gumwood shell, die-cast hoops. Fully customizable range of sizes and finishes. Brooklyn: 6-ply Maple/Poplar shell, pressed 302 stick-chopper hoops. Limited shell sizes and finishes. New Classic: Proportionate maple shells. Shell thickness increases as shell diameter increases. Die-cast hoops. Stylized lugs, low-mass suspension system. 20x14" is a more traditional and very versatile size. Good for be-bop to rock and everything in between!

Thank You steve! HOpe to visit your shop in NYC soon...I have a Gretsch new classic with a 20X16 bass, 10x8, 12x9 and 14x14 toms.. I will try and make that work..for bop. Im confident it will be fine for rock and everything else

Great to see this Brooklyn, has the tom attached to the bass drum and NOT the cymbal stand, like some of their others. This proves , that attaching the toms to the cymbal stands to improve the sound , is rubbish. It's been like this for 100 years.
