I literally cried when I watched this. I feel exactly the same way ...not good enough... everything I make is ugly...no one cares about my creations...and I have chaos in my mind ALL the time...to the point I'll just sit still and feel afraid to even move...it's paralyzing. So glad to know I'm not alone. Thank u so much for this Steve.

Create for you. Chances are, if you LIKE what you made, there will be other people who will LOVE your work. Thinking you could have done better inspires us to work on improving. And remember, what you've made will be the only one of its kind piece of art in the world. Reading the comments from your peers tells me that they love the work that you do. I'm sure Michaelangelo and da Vinci criticized their own work as well. If being creative makes you happy, then that's all that matters. 😊

I didn’t realise how far down I was, until one day I had a visit to my copd nurse. She looked at me and said very gently are you okay, and for the first time I burst into tears, and boy did I cry. That few words opened the door towards my journey upwards. I still struggle every day, but I’m still here alive and kicking. I love watching your videos. I can no longer work with resin due to my breathing. So I love to watch you. I crochet baby blankets for our nicu unit. So I do so thing creative Beverly day.

Things like this video are why you are, by far, my favorite crafting youtuber. You are just so genuine. Heart on your sleeve. As a life long sufferer myself, I totally understand this. The members group is part of what keeps me going, knowing that I'm not alone, that we're all struggling together and that makes it just that much easier to push through the really low lows. We love you Steve. You are not an "imposter", you inspire people to expand and advance their crafts, you help us see not only the wins, but the fails as well. You are perfectly imperfect and we adore you for it.

Thank you so much for doing this! It takes a lot to open up! I think many crafters have ADHD/ADD. I was diagnosed last year and it has made all the difference, just understanding why I am the way I am! I now take meds during the day, and my mind is so much clearer! I would encourage anyone who thinks they may have ADHD/ADD to get diagnosed! Even if you don’t want to take medication, at least you know why! I have discovered I don’t have depression I have overwhelm! When it gets too much for my busy little brain, I just shut down. Good luck to all you crafters out there! Go see a doc if you’re not feeling right, you would if you broke your leg! Why not for your brain? Xxx

Thanks! My son passed away last March at the age of 24 in a single car accident. 2 months later, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that he battled 10 years ago but found out at ER it’s back with stage 4. I’m a complete wreck and can’t move on. My therapist told me to get some sort of hobby and silly me picked resin. I love it but it’s hard to get out of bed still and these days, I watch videos of all you wonderful creators. So never give up. There are people like me out there that actually need you! And you inspire me to try! For this I say thank you! And especially thank you for speaking about the issue!!!

I have cancer and MS so I understand not being able to get out of bed. So I don't. I craft in bed. 😊 I hope the following tips help you. I started with a small stash in my room (just a bag of paper craft essentials). I craft on one of those fold out bed/ tray things. The stash has become an entire, adjoining, craft room 😆. I use a small spirit level to ensure the bed tray is level when pouring resin and I have a bed side unit to rest the moulds on once poured. It's not much, but it really helped me. Keep on crafting my friend.❤

Steve, I can't tell you how much I needed this right now. I have been too stressed and down to even think about doing arts and crafts, or even watch videos about it, for months...but something made me click on your notification. One of the things I've always admired is how genuine and positive you are on your videos. You make wonderful videos and crafts, but you don't sweat the small stuff, and if something doesn't come out perfectly, you run with it with a chuckle instead of editing it out...and you show us that it's ok to enjoy the process as well as simple, satisfactory results. Not everything can be the next Sistine Chapel, and that's ok...and ok to be happy about it. I too share your struggles, and I really appreciate your candor. I have not watched all of your videos, and had not heard you mention it before, but I had a feeling you did. Not because you act mentally ill, but because the way in which you demonstrate good mental health seems mindful and earned. Thank you for being here, and being you. The rest of my day has taken a different turn thanks to you. 🤗

Thank you for sharing Steve! I've had to make decisions in my life to manage my anxiety and depression, such as deleting Facebook, limiting my time on social media and taking time out of the day to just read. I've also recently had my meds adjusted and I'm finally feeling better, more "alive", if you will. I, too, will be on meds for the rest of my life, but that's ok. I no longer look at it as a sign of weakness or a failing, it's just who I am, and I like me.

Thank you for sharing. Meds are just part of our lives and they enable us to be on a somewhat level field most of the times. I feel better just by accepting that

Thank you so much for this. I struggle too and am in a current anxiety bout, but yes fine art and crafting are my saviors too. In fact I'm trying to figure out how to make therapy and art my mission to those who need it. So far not successful but trying to reevaluate.

As someone with PTSD, Chronic clinical depression, ADD .. you know besides the physical issues... Getting out of bed is some days more than I can do. But getting out of bed is a victory for sure! Asking for help is an act of courage. People seem to think that mental health problems are somehow the fault of the person with them. Certainly, you can choose to learn positive coping mechanisms or you can choose to be a victim or even victimize others, but nobody *chooses* to be mentally ill. It's not a choice. It's a valid health concern, and should be treated as such.

Thank you for sharing this with us, it takes a lot of courage to show your vulnerability. I’v never felt like I was good enough from an early age, always trying to be and do better than anyone else, stressing about everything being perfect for my family, stressing that I haven’t done enough for my family. I nearly ended it all 4 years ago because my husband of, then, 29yrs had an affair, which made me feel even more worthless than I already did. It was only when I opened up to one of my friends and she helped me get the help I needed that things started to get a bit better. There are still days we’re I don’t want to do anything and feel down but I have my animals to keep me going, knowing that I have to look after them gives me purpose. X

I have 2 job's 1 being a Home Healthcare and 2 I clean motel rooms for family motel. Both jobs can be stressful and rewarding at the same time. When I went into one of the rooms to clean I found affirmation notes stuck all over the room. Before i realized what i was doing I found myself reading them all that was visible. Things like "you got this", "you are amazing" "you are great" "you can do anything" and many others. By the time I was done in that room I walked out feeling like a whole new person. One day I saw the man who rented the room. I gave him a smile and told him ty for his personal affirmation notes and that they help me get thru the rest of my day. He then told me his story of his battle with depression. He says those lil sticky notes are what helps him to get thru his hard days and that they really work. I believe they do. Anyway love your videos, love that you keep it real. And I'm thankful for all your videos even the ones u think are not your best or not good. Keep up the good work and remember you're awesome you're amazing and you can do anything 😊

You have no idea how much that helped me! Even started crying a bit because I understand. I said for a long time that I wanted to do crafting for a living but dues to medical problems I couldn't get myself up to work and now that I do have that strength I had to get a job, so work full time, take care of my two young kids, and the house and I am finally doing my first craft booth next month and of course feels like something keeps telling me it won't work and I'll probably just embarrass myself. So you really helped me strengthen up with that. 😊
