The most frustrating thing about these matches against top four in the mid-2000s were always so close but the individual quality upfront for Chelsea, United, Arsenal would find out a way to get a goal. At Liverpool with the like of Crouch, Kewell, Cisse, Riise at LW it was always miracles needed from Gerrard or Alonso to create chances/goals or incredible performances from the entire team. Rafa's system were way too defensive which worked great in CL but the league was a struggle.
