@@FootkerSnookball 3 times to be exact. It happens to every player, even other comparable midfielders like Lampard-DeBruyne-Pirlos's of the world have back passes/mistakes leading to goals. AC Milan got knocked out of CL 2008 because of a bad backpass/mistake from Pirlo. Messi losing the ball in his own half in a WC final led to Mbappe's goal. It happens to all great players.

Almost all he decides to give it to WorldClass striker clear 1on1 Thierry Euro2004 Thierry PL 2005/06 Drogba 2009/10 DembaBa PL 2013/14 (may as well be same mistake, he was the deepest Liverpool player, he miscontrolled his touch causing him to panick and make wrong running direction decision, causing the slip (so when some people say it was just "unlucky" they're obviously biased in favour of him, cost him what would've been his only PL title. They had other chances throughout his career some seasons Liverpool were made favouritesyet people like to give Gerrard the excuse that he wasn't in strong teams to compensate for his weak position in regards to the debate about Scholes who's better debate). Impossible to avoid hosts(therefore ref as well) in next round of Euro2004 after that loss (and it's not like he made up for it vs Portugal did he?? Do you remember anything he did in that game?). If he did ANYTHING other than what he did vs 🇫🇷 England would've got at least a draw it was so late in the game so going forward was less risky than going backwards but that's what happens when he plays for teams expected to do well pressure gets to him. Hence why his biggest club success by a mile is him and his team defending at 3-3 and hoping for a lottery shootout while Milan had thought they'd won but were trying to win more than Liverpool before the shootout. That doesn't include his awful last couple of games of the failed Euro2008 qualifying campaign where England were unfortunately having to rely on him particularly for 🇭🇷 game at Wembley many actual important players missing. @@vlnakajr2346 And why you're comparing a player just losing the ball in the middle of the pitch with an even amount of players from both teams either side of the ball to giving world class strikers clear 1on1 chances in acres of space (gifted them goals in other words) only you know. Messi lost the ball in a way like many players do several times per game that go unmentioned because the opposition still have to do a lot to score & plenty of other teammates can still defend after his mistake, he didn't literally give 🇫🇷 the goal. And like I said, I'm not saying I haven't seen WorldClass players make similar mistakes but with them I've only seen it once i.e Scholes did it once away to Chelsea and unlike any of Gerrard's howlers it didn't cost ManUtd anything they still got a draw and won the league comfortably. Keane did it away to Fiorentina but ManUtd still advanced to the knockout stage and Keane was ManUtd's top scorer in Europe that season & Keane scored against them at OldTrafford that same group stage.
