I just tweeted about this ❤😂 It’s a beautiful, powerful tribute to Taylor. I held back tears the entire time. The fact that there’s no drums or percussion is so fitting, so respectful.

They actually didn't have anything Foo Fighters planned, in particular. They have a thing called the Resurrection Sessions, where usually they remake old songs of theirs that were left as demo's or sounded unfinished, but this time they wanted to do a cover instead of an old song of theirs. So that was what was originally planned (and they would've probably had a poll up to choose the song), but then one of their fans said that it would maybe be a good thing to use this space they'd already put aside for creating this cover to pay homage to the Foo Fighters because of Taylor's passing (in the form of a Foo Fighters cover)

The tribute feels haunting in the best way possible. You can literally feel the loss in the air while listening to it. Also, yeah that vocal went out to space.

I think you'd love to see Dougie on their live performance of Do Watcha or even the studio session of Silence is a Scary Sound

It's a lot more stripped back than most of their stuff and is rightfully more solemn than their high energy performances. It was a nice thing to do without seeming like a cash grab from a tragedy.

This cover is so beautifully haunting, it definitely shows the fault Taylor will make to the music world. McFly already had plans to cover a song on MTA of any band, they even asked us for suggestions but then Taylor passed away and they took this opportunity to make this tribute for a musician they really liked and they did it brilliantly. Taylor would have loved this 🤍
