I don’t want to tell how to repair Sloan stuff but you can just replace parts . You could have put a new kit in the shut off the turned the main water on . Then just replace the rest of the parts a lot less work and expense. I have some old sloans the you can still get parts.

Those are some of the easiest things to work on. Did a few myself back in the day as a simple maintenance guy. Wish all homes (mine included) had turbo flushers like that!!!!!!!

This is where experience out weighs youtube and google. Your the man Steve. “I got that on the truck”. My favorite Steve lav quote. And I’m sure customers say the same. Nothing makes them happy enough than a same day fix lol.

Amazing video this is most likely a Kohler primary toilet reshoot of repairs
@EternallyThankful-os6pz2 жыл бұрын
I had a similar job just recently - due to the ongoing supply issues , NO ONE had the repair kit for the inlet valve but they did have the whole chrome 1 inch inlet stop assembly. Even this part alone was 1/3rd the cost of a complete new one. Since I knew it would MORE THAN LIKELY need at LEAST a diaphragm AND some other parts AND it would look shoddy to have part of the the valve new and part old , it just made sense to replace the whole thing as new...so having dealt with a nearly identical problem I agree with your decision to replace the whole thing...nice work and thanks for sharing.

They have repair parts for shut off valve. I just repaired all mine at work over last 6 months. I hate replacing spuds. Seems like it takes me 2 or 3 tries before no leaks. Of course everyone wants to use that toilet once you get it apart, lol. Thanks Steven!
@realestateservicessaleshea993 жыл бұрын
Make sure surface is clean & dry. Make sure the rubber is soft and not rock hard(sitting for years). Put a little blue seal gasket dope on the porcelain put assembly in and tighten putting pressure on the top and make sure it's square ,make snug let it sit for 15 minutes the spud will never leak and you will be able to change later if needed but you won't ever have to in your lifetime😄🤣😆🥃 Stay safe. Retired keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses.

@@realestateservicessaleshea99 thanks. I usually get it. Luckily I think most have been replaced over last 10 years and I only have 5 to go! Lol
@jonathanmessore19073 жыл бұрын
also they make a spud tool that holds the brass part so you can tighten it better...steve didnt need it, surprisingly...
@J-Colt3 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanmessore1907 I use a spud removal tool for radiators and use crescent wrench to hold steady. Only used it once so far but worked great. The tool has like 5 different sizes but largest size works on toilet spud.
@jonathanmessore19073 жыл бұрын
also instead of changing out that whole valve body, i just like to change out the guts...it's alot quicker
