The base model of Bosch as a PSC blower motor, the 18 and 20 have ECM.
@Garth2011Ай бұрын
@@dwight.bennett I have found the "base" models in most anything tend to be the best value because they have the exact foundation/design/engineering as the higher end models, just less features and parts to go bad. I've been finding this out more and more and it helps when determining the best value when selecting an item.

Carry a spray bottle with soapy water to cool down the joint and cleans up the joint. Also get a bottle of Laco Cool Gel to spray the king valves and evaporator connections before soldering to stop heat transfer, good stuff.

Got a new Bosch 4 ton with matched air handler and new ductwork last week. House has been beautiful ever since - sitting at 72F while it's 90F+ outside. My electric usage also dropped since I stopped using the window units (after the old Lennox unit died) which pleasantly surprised me.

Hi Steve, great job!, however, how come you can't do the electrical work for the A/C units ?, seems that you have the expertise instead of having to hire an electrician and wait on them before you can finish the installation! In California, the HVAC guys/gals can get an electrical license to add to their HVAC license and do the electrical work as well
@WeatherNut27Ай бұрын
He's not licensed for it but I agree, if he knows how to and its not getting filed then he could. I bet he had to file the job though.
@jonsaircond852028 күн бұрын
Liability would be the primary reason weather its a permit job or not. If your not licensed to do it and something happens the General Liability insurance gets pretty foggy. It isn't worth losing your insurance and nobody else will pick you up now your out if business to run 1 electric line. My younger years I did it all the time but things are different now

@josephgraham1065Ай бұрын
Just curious why are the line sets brazed or soldered on central ac units but mini split systems use flare connections? Same pressures arent they?
@mrlegendary9298Ай бұрын
@josephgraham1065 If brazing is not done properly with nitrogen flowing, you can get cupric oxide which is a black soot inside the lineset. Mini splits don't use filters like split systems and the soot can create issues with the metering valves etc on the mini splits. So they use flares. Also, the history overseas of mini splits was geared towards homeowners/ non professionals doing the installs and not having the equipment to braze properly led to use of flare fittings.

are you using a quality surge protector on the units ? If so what brand / model ? Any issues with that 10 year Bosch warranty on the inverter board ?
@HERITAGEWVАй бұрын
You can’t go off looking at the 2 double pole 60A breakers to solely determine if it’s a 10-15-or 20kw electric heat kit. Pop the cover off of it, look at the heat kit. It should be labeled but if it’s not you can look at the front of the heat kit and simply count the sections or thermal overloads. 1 thermal overload per section and typically each section is ~5kw 1=5kw 2 =10kw 3= 15kw 4= 20kw Oh and the 2 breakers on the heat kit should already be set to run the blower motor also. Circuit #1 will run the blower, low voltage transformer and part of the backup heat. The 2nd circuit runs the remaining heat elements.
