That's the situation I encountered about a week ago but I didn't understand the message presented in the information center of touching the key fob to the start button. Didn't realize that's what I needed to do until now - thank you Steven!

Yep play in case somebody figures out how to remote unlock your car it's asking that you have to have the key fob an extra layer of security

I’m glad to know my trucks not the only one that does that i’ve had mine since July that’s the first thing that happened when I did that when I first got the truck

I have a 2021 4 Runner w after market remote start. It shuts off when I open the door. Will the upload fix a after market remote ?

Thanks for this. I didn’t know it. Still the only manufacturer I know of whose remote start makes the vehicle turn off when you open the door. Lol.

Hey Steve just a quick question, does the 2022 sienna xse comes standard with fog lights?

My guess would be that it's to prevent someone from stealing your phone and then stealing you car with out benefit of the Fob.

Thanks for your video Steve! I wasn't using the Toyota app today to unlock my Tundra, but I got the same message that you showed on this video. I couldn't remember what you said to do until I watched your video again. I tried to touch the fob to the start button as you showed, but that didn't work. I needed to take the metal key out of the fob and touch it to the start button to get it to start. My fob may just need new batteries..... We've had our Tundra almost 2 years. When I got home, it started right up again?

Have you noticed the stop start button is not lit at night sometimes when the vehicle is in the park? I have a hard time finding the button.

Doesn’t happen with 2022 RAV4. With winter here I frequently remote start to let it warm up.

Hi Steven this appears to be only a problem with 2023. I never had that problem with my 2022

Hopefully they can fix that and remote start shutting off, because that’s annoying 😢

Makes no since and essentially kills the purpose of remote start.
