Not really, I was perfectly happy getting married to the woman I love while we were both broke in grad school (technically med school for her.) All the wealth we built up was built years after we got married and it was really more so for the security we wanted to give the kids but I can't lie and say I don't enjoy it.

I still wanted to date him, because he was so nerdy and a little awkward. And he just seemed like a really great person from day one. Character first, ladies. I couldn't agree more with you!! When I met my boyfriend who is 3 years older than me ( and the nerdy type ^^ ). I was about to finish high school I had my future planned out and he was a high school drop out struggling to find a job. And because of that my family kind of saw him as being a downgrade. And here we are nearly 4 years later. I'm a psychology and med student. And my boyfriend is about to get his high school diploma in order to be able to study physics. If I would have overlooked all of his qualities. Due to the simple fact that he didn't have a job nor a degree. I wouldn't be where I'm at today....which is with the man of my dreams.

I wish Steve had been my father….even without the money. I never really felt valued by anyone, including myself, and the way he talks to women, how he talks about his daughters, his sons….real love. He breathes life into them, and I think that’s what I’ve always looked for and never had. I’m learning now now to be satisfied with just loving myself….thanks Steve for just sharing pieces of you and your family.
