Great... because Stevia sets you free from the glucose. It's known that the glucose consumption puts people into depression, due to the blood sugars and insulin spikes. Stevia is a healthy solution for this.

Because if it was true that eating sugar in fruit is fine due to the fiber offsetting the sugar that’s in the fruit then I should be able to eat sugar by the hand fulls along side of a high fiber food and it not effect me lol!

You see, I have a non alcoholic fatty liver from decades of steroids and carbs. I am now Carnivore and occasionally Ketovore. I will stick with the Stevia as do entire cultures.

@@devonwilliams2423 Weight gain (obesity) is only one of the many symptoms of poor health. Diet sodas typically contain synthetic sweeteners, meaning chemical factory products that are not normal or natural foods for the human body. Remember that you don't lose weight to get healthier, you get healthier to lose weight. The extreme poor health of the western population including all the recent western disease epidemics (such as obesity) is caused by the damaging product sales based SAD diet, that unfortunately also includes many chemicals, toxins and contaminates. To obtain close to full health it's essential to adopt a healthy whole food diet and lifestyle, and to eliminate as many chemicals from your diet as is possible - including synthetic sweeteners.

I can have some. I have to be very careful about its use, because it will break me out like I was exposed to poison ivy if I take too much. I’ve heard people who are sensitive to ragweed or similar plants can react, also. Fine in moderation, but personally, I wouldn’t exceed two uses a day. Also, looking at your fruit graph, I have to give one warning. If you are on Metformin, be very limited on your grapefruit consumption. It can increase the reaction of the Metformin to levels where you could start to have ill effects from it. Many other drugs also react badly with grapefruit, and sometimes even orange juice in the case of some antibiotics. Be sure to read your prescription information to be sure your medicine isn’t one of these.

Stevia and Monk fruit sugar are considered the safest. Use in moderation is the key. I wouldn’t recommend fruits as the fructose can only be stored in the liver and nowhere else, ending up with a fatty liver. I use monk fruit sugar for cooking and tea.

If you want to see if fruit raises your blood sugar you need to get a blood glucose monitor. People are different. It may shoot your glucose thru the roof, or not. Studies often don't give an accurate result for you specifically. As for stevia, over all it’s better than not having it. You can use it with cacao in your coffee, otherwise very bitter, but very healthy. With stevia it becomes palatable and enjoyable as well all loaded with polyphenols (and stevia adds no calories).

I have been thinking of trying stevia, have it growing in the garden, so I appreciate your input, and all the comments. I would add that what we're dealing with in fruits is fructose, and fructose goes straight to the liver, to either become fat or energy. For diabetics, or pre-diabetics, it becomes fat. Many people are developing sensitivities to fructose, and other fermentable sugars in foods, called Fodmaps. Most 'gluten free' products are really just low fodmap foods, and there is correlation, not causation, to their benefit. Funny how the people who sell us these foods have no idea why. Research shows that berries and citrus are the lowest in fructose, thus they do not spike our blood sugar and cause digestive distress. I am surprised to find apples on your list of good fruits, for they are the highest in fructose. I find if I eat an apple, or make an apple pie, I become flushed, get a headache, brain fog, and dizzy. I would recommend people look into Fodmaps, and understand the role of fructose on the body.

Thank you for highlighting correlation vs cause!😘 Once the decades-long PROGRESSION of Metabolic Disease takes control, all carbs feed & speed that progression! Just watched a new Thomas DeLauer vid yesterday where he discussed how A1c tests ONLY measure glucose glycation. But both the still unmeasurable fructose & galactose glycations are as much as 10X more destructive, molecule for molecule! Yikes! As far as stevia, it has little to no effect on blood sugar or Insulin response. But it does some damage to our microbiomes, so I’m trying to cut back, while increasing kefir, ferments & probiotics. Growing it organically ourselves is the best way, but after drying & grinding, it has more mass, so measurements will be different. Far more expensive Allulose, a real, non-caloric “rare sugar” is becoming my favorite because it behaves just like real sugar for browning & caramelizing. But it is only about 70% as sweet, so I am adding a bit of stevia if I need cup-for-cup. You can also buy a monkfruit-sweetened Allulose blend for more money. I’m making a Mexican flan (Milkadamia, cream & eggs) with caramelized Allulose to take to a dinner tomorrow night. Just heard that my friend is trying keto too!

I have been unhappy with ketchup ever since they started sweetening it with high fructose corn syrup. Since going on a keto (w/if) to stave off diabetes, I have found stevia sweetened ketchup a life saver. HF corn syrup is sticky sweet, yet curiously has aways left me unsatisfied. Stevia sweetened ketchup reminds me of the flavor the product had when I was a child in the 1950s. It has allowed me to taste the vinegar in ketchup, and, mixed with avocado oil mayonnaise, makes a Russian dressing the likes of which I haven't tasted in decades.

Fruit is horrible for my blood glucose. Almost all kinds cause a spike that is large enough to eventually result in real harm. Stevia, on the other hand, results in virtually no increase and if there is one it is small and of short duration. I wonder if this guy has ever sweetened his coffee with an apple? Yum.

I loved Stevia until I didn't. I lost a lot of weight with it. I used it for a couple years. But I started reacting to it. There are some people, I'm one of them, stevia reacts with our central nervous system, causing extreme depression and pain all over the body. Just one tiny little bit, and I'm toast for a couple days. Refined or raw, it's the same reaction for me.

I use about a teaspoon of honey to sweeten. Start out with half teaspoon first to see how sweet you want it. Yes, it's still 'sugar'....but it sweetens with just a little bit. It adds a unami to the sweet. Personally I also use some heavy whipping cream or half and half to lighten it some.

I often hear "experts" set the premise that all kinds of studies show diet soda increases weight. But no studies are ever referenced. I have heard it drives increased appetite but that is an indirect cause that can be managed. I would all sweets and carbs drive the appetite causing over eating and weight gain.

Sorry but it seems to me you have missed some very important things concerning Stevia. You cited one double blind study with humans where the participants who received Stevia took a dose of 500 mg. That is an outrageous dose. Regardless of the fact that the outcome was very positive. That is the most common problem with many stevia studies using rats. Excessively large doses for body weight. You also didn’t differentiate or identify which component of Stevia was used in the various studies. There are 5 main components Generally called Reb a, Reb b, Reb c, Reb d and Steviosides. Different extracts of Stevia may be responsible for differing results in different studies. Or the unxetracted version called “green leaf Stevia” also may cause different results. My point is that your video was not well researched and the topic of Stevia requires more depth than you provide in this video.

From my understanding, glucose raises your blood sugar where fructose does not. Fructose bypasses the liver and goes right to fat storage. In nature, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Fructose is nature’s way of fattening you up in the summer months so you can survive the winter months.

Great video. But the research was done on Stevia extract. If you eat the whole plant leaf you get the same effect and you can grow it on your windowsill or in your garden for free. That’s why the research won’t be done on the plant because it will be funded by companies that want to send you a product. The same companies lobby the FBI so that if you read the FDA notes on Stevia it says that the extract is safe but the plant is not safeIt’s the same organisation that allows hormones to be injected into beef and antibiotics to be used systemically throughout the meat food chain they also allow farmers to spray food with poisons (pesticides herbicides fungicides and biocides).I personally grow and eat my own Stevia it has no chemicals on it

From my experience with Stevia after 4 years of using it, was causing a lot of health problems for me personally. It was causing my kidneys to hurt and my stomach, digestion was messed up and was very addicting just like sugar and would cause me to overeat sometimes. I finally stopped using it and that same day I immediately started to feel better.. I stopped all sugar and sugar substitutes. I had stopped all fruit, coffee, cream, beans, potatoes and finally stevia seemed to be the culprit .Im not saying it bad for everyone just me. u must find out for yourselves . The stevioside molecule is said to be quite large and is not absorbed by the intestines. But if you are eating the whole plant leaves, there may be other molecules in the leaves causing the problem. Or, you have a leaky gut? Stevia extract should not be a kidney problem, because it should never get there. That seems reasonable to me anyway.
