I mean, that was also a childhood fear of mine, quicksand; specifically I feared quicksand sinkholes spontaneously coming into existence right under my feet. Along with Michael Jackson showing up at school at kidnapping me, a tiger that didn’t give a f*ck about gravity or physics with Oprah Winfrey’s face (a weird nightmare from when I was like 3 that I never forgot because it freaked me out that bad?????), and the bomb plants from LOZOOT magically appearing in my room if the lights were off at night. I feel like many of my irrational childhood fears were oddly specific.

Interesting analysis of JF. But equally viable is - That's just JF's personality, of which you don't rez with, and you simply rez with other host's style. - If a host's job is to interact with their guests in order to entertain the audience and viewers, then all host's are, in some respect, non-genuine.

"Fun" fact: We actually have that exact quote in Denmark: "Fra børn og fulde folk skal man høre sandheden" ("From children and drunk people, you will hear the truth") - which was originally said by Søren Kierkegaard in 1845, who paraphrased from an old Latin quote: "in vino veritas": "in wine lies the truth", which is found in Symposion by Platon.
