Quick story. On October 8, 1989 I was on the front row of the Houston Summit for Stevie's "Other Side of the Mirror" Tour. Getting 1 ticket was cool for the seat location, as my ex nor 2 teenagers wanted to go with me. It was as if she was singing straight to me all night. But, when she sang "Whole Lotta Trouble" she tossed one of her scarves in my direction. It didn't clear security, but she pointed at me, letting the security guy know where it needed to go. Think about it, I'm 32, married with 2 teens, flying solo, on the front row watching one of my crushes from when I was a teenager. Yes, I still have the scarf. I'd been a Flertwood Mc fan since 1968, and had every album of theirs and all solo albums. There were 3 posters in my bedroom as a young whipper-snapper 1967-1976. Janis, Grace Slick, Stevie Nicks. Wow, I just did the math, that was half a lifetime ago, I'm 64.

Fun fact, Prince helped her with this song! Her and prince were close friends! Prince would even wear her shawl!

Stevie heard Prince song, Little Red Corvette on the radio one night, and later on she contacted Prince and told him she liked the synth part and could he help her write a song. He invited her to his studio and played and recorded the keyboard lead on Stand Back, in one take and he handed her the tape and she finished the song. If you listen to Little Red Corvette and Stand Back, you’ll notice that the keyboard riff is the same.

Didn't know her that well, but gonna listen to more of her music. I love singers and bands who go on forever and hear their hits from the past and new songs. If you are really a musician or singer in your hart you will go on forever.

Sorry to say but I don't think there is much chance that most of today's artists will stand the test of time like those from 60's-70's, this is timeless talent and our generation are the first rockers and we love our music history, it's a way of life! I still laugh when I think of this being "the old folks" music to your generation. Hope you have also been checking out some other "old timers" like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton (Cream, Derek & the Dominos, Blind Faith), Emerson Lake & Palmer, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Jefferson Starship, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Toto, Traffic, The Who, and Leon Russell for starts... there are so many more besides these, we really were there for the birth of so many great talents.
