In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed - ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).
In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.

Hello Shannon. Respect to your comment. Quite obviously a classic, speaking of which. Harvest moon by Neil Young is a fav of mine but I hasten to add this one covers that very song. Its by Foxes and Fossils. Please listen to it, especially the young ladies voice, its divine. Anyways, take care and plz keep commenting. Greetings from the UK John.

After seeing Stevie live the other night, it's clear she really loved Tom. They had an amazing friendship. And reading up in it, he seems to be one of the only men who was immune to her allure. The fact that she has friendships and musical partnerships going back almost 50 years says a lot about her work ethic, character, and the respect people in the industry have for her. All her relationship drama was publicized, but that doesn’t seem to be who she really is. Love you, Stevie. RIP Tom.

It's amazing what just a few notes in the right progression can do for a song. The lead part by Mike Campbell, 4 simple notes create a haunting lead And the drummer, Stan Lynch does a superb job !!

I am 65. Still listening to this song, and all of Stevie Nicks songs. This is one of the greatest songs of all time. So glad I grew up listening to music in 60’s 70’s and 80”s. Greatest decades of music. The young ones today, DON’T KNOW WHAT REAL MUSIC IS!!

I am 50, my daughter is 23,loves Tom Petty, raised her well. So proud. Good music knows no age, you just need a friend, an aunt , mother or father to introduce you. Tom Petty is a legend, hardly better song writer can be found. I only hope that new generations can learn from his music and have their own music pillars and not fleeting popularity contests with hardly any substance. What a timeless duet.

The REAL reason is this. I tell you true. The writers' Guild went on strike. It lasted some time. Nobody to write songs, movies, t.v., etc. EVERYTHING changed after that however, the English underground bands invaded America and that brief interlude caused the end of music as we knew it. Thx for your post Deb. Sincerely, Sentebey
