Then when he kicks with that gospel voice, to quote another song from the album-'Knocks me off my feet'. Oh, that song you were humming at the beginning is 'Master Blaster' (Jammin), his homage to Bob Marley. Great, great suggestion.

Saw him one time....back in the 80s I think.......when he released his album.....'In Square Circle'. He was a guest on Oprah Winfrey's old show another time & he sang this. Oprah told him 'As' was her favorite song. There MIGHT be footage of that here on KZfaq.

Yes! I recall being in middle school when this came out, and while it did get some airplay (enough to stick in my head), it wasn't as popular as most of the others at the time, so it quickly faded from rotation. Because I never knew the title, I wondered years later - was it something I somehow just dreamed up in my head? It took until the advent of KZfaq before I heard it again. The groove, the riff, just turning over and over upon itself.. I went out and bought a copy of the album right then (though I should have years before). Thank you for reacting to this.

TRIVIA alert, Elton John said in an interview not too long ago that this album is with him everywhere he goes, home travel etc always.

It's hard if not impossible to go wrong with ANY track from Songs in the Key of Life. What a towering artistic triumph that double album masterpiece was (and IS). I remember a high school acquaintance insisting to me that Stevie Wonder would fade and be forgotten while some flash-in-the-pan he preferred and whose name I can't even recall would eclipse Stevie.
