Englishman here - i love our music, from the Beatles, Stones, Queen, Floyd, Elton, Sting, Bowie, Sabbath, Motorhead, George Michael, Sheeran, Adele........the list goes on - BUT......................despite all that class and success, we can never claim to have one as talented and amazing as the USA - because you have Stevie Wonder. He's the greatest there has ever been and ever will be. God bless him.

@@kristinfinke5844 Ummmm, yeah . . . didn't want to go there, but yeah. LOL! Stevie Wonder is a talented songwriter, but yeah, Donny has the voice. You went there so . . . I'll go there with you. I'm not a huge fan of SW's voice. I'll one up on you . . . while I think Michael Jackson sang like an angel as a kid, I think as a grown up, Donny had a better voice. There I said it. Waiting to get blasted, but I don't care.

@@kristinfinke5844 I didn't know the Masked Singer. In fact, I didn't think it was him at all (I saw the singing part without the obvious hints that were given). I even bragged like "I grew up listening to Donny Osmond, and that's not him." I didn't realize how theatrical his voice could be. The deepness in his voice when he sang "Ladies and Gents this is the moment you've been waiting for" . . . then there was something different about the way he sang "left behiiiind", and that rough "getting closer" . . . I could go on and on. What I didn't know was he took some voice lessons late in his career (maybe in the 80s). He could always sing well, but damn, now he's incredible. He really impressed me. Then I saw a clip of him playing Gaston in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, and again, I was surprised how he changed his voice. But his first love is R&B . . .you can tell by the way he sings it. What can I say, he's just damn good all around.

I don’t think she meant that at all. I believe what she is saying is that Stevie Wonder is recognized as a legend, whereas, the mountain of music, television and entertaining that Donny Osmond has accomplished within HIS sphere of the music industry was very often downplayed. Donny always had a great voice and personality. He WAS recognized to a great degree but obviously not as much as Stevie. It wasn’t a comparison about talent, just on the RECOGNITION of those talents.

It goes without saying that Stevie sounded incredible. It should also be noted that Donny stepped up and did a beautiful job himself. Holding your own on a Stevie Wonder song while Steve freakin' Wonder is playing it on the piano is no mean feat. Stevie was incredibly gracious to give Donny a moment to shine before nailing it himself.

I may be wrong, but I really think that Donnie didn’t expect to sing. Sure he had the microphone at all but that was mostly because he was doing the interviewing. When Steve asked him to sing and it started off for a moment he was shocked and skipped a beat but like the true musical performer that Donnie is he recovered brilliantly and even when he forgot the wordsTemporarily, he’s still recovering quickly to finish his part of the song. He handled that with such poise that only professional could do without getting flustered

That really is gracious of Stephen to do that and to have Donnie start off first. Donnie almost had a major“ fanboy moment“ when he realized his icon this musical genius with actually playing his favorite song for him to sing in front of him. The moment is almost too much but he recovered so well

I had the pleasure of playing piano for Donny backstage as we sang Stevie Wonder songs. Just the two of us. His face lit up singing Stevie. I believe we did "Love's In Need of Love Today" and "I wish". Donny said that it was his desire to have sung Stevie songs on the Donny & Marie show back in the 70's but it wasn't allowed to happen. To one person's comment, yes, Donny was born to sing Stevie songs!

Stevie Wonder. My birth twin - same day same year and..... I became a musician, singer and songwriter. Stevie has always been the greatest influence on my career that culminated in the great privilege of working with Syreeta here in the UK when she came over as part of a retrospective Motown tour many years ago. This song in particular is very close to my heart. To have had Stevie as the heartbeat of my youth and my latter years has only ever made me, 'Overjoyed'. I always raise a glass to him every May 13th. Happy 73rd next month.

I grew up with Donny Osmond, and he is beautiful to me. I also wholly honor King Wonder as one of the best singers the US has ever put forth. He is America's national treasure. I'm touched by Mr. Osmond's sweetness, and humility re: this "collaboration". I so wish we could get back to this sweetness/honor. I miss U.S.
