People can't argue against that lol. Every kind of point you wanna talk about Em is at the top. Albums sold, top of the charts, most #1 hits, albums everything, he just surpasses everyone by a HUGE margin. And that's not even taking into account how absolutely insane his lyrics, bars and wordplay is. He's the GOAT 100% But I also understand he's not everyone's cup of tea. I just get mad when people try to say he's not the best. That's like saying Tom Brady isn't the best. You don't gotta like him, but you have to respect their greatness.

The bar about "top 4" is one of the reasons why I feel like Eminem is the best! He structured it in such way that it leaves up to you to decide which ones he is, never saying that he is the number one but also not saying he's 3rd or 4th. First time I heard it I thought he was saying he was 3rd and 4th but after seeing your reaction and explanation im not sure anymore 😅

To clarify about the "Who the fuck you think that 3rd and that 4th spot's for" bar: In "Till i collapse" when he lists top 9 rappers he says "It goes, Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me" putting Pac and Biggie at 3rd and 4th. Pretty crazy tie-in with another song but that's the lyrical complexity you need to look out for with Eminem.

‘Flipped rap on its ear, like I dropped corn’ - I always interpreted that as his flipping the genre like the band, Korn, did. Think they experimented with Rap as well. So a Nu-Metal band experimenting with rap is certainly flipping the genre, I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking this! The beauty is that every bar is open to interpretation to a certain extent and it’s nice that we all have the freedom to interpret the lyrics like some kind of lyric detectives. Loving your videos by the way! Keep it up!

It works but think the most likely interpretation is he flipped raps ear, like dropping an ear of corn, because nobody wanted to entertain the idea of a white rapper being as good as he is. They were considered more of a novelty than a staple of the genre until he came along. There was more than just Korn fusing Rap with rock around too, Anthrax done loads of stuff with Public Enemy before that, Rage against the Machine were around in the early 90's too and then there was Body Count aswell, and the obvious Beastie Boys stuff which happened in the mid to late 80's when the genres started mixing in New York.

People shouldn't take every Eminem bar so seriously. A lot of it is just tongue in cheek or he merely says things because they rhyme well. Same goes for the difference between Marshal Mathers/Slim Shady/Eminem. In the end it's all Marshal trying to rap the best he can in all kinds of different styles while throwing some ludicrous tongue in cheek bars in there, or talking about his actual thoughts or talking about fake thoughts just because it rhymes well. He himself had said it in his songs. It isn't all serious.

You're on fire this week. I've 3 recommendations... SHADY XV - Bar heavy lyrical onslaught Insane - For the shock value reaction, be funny. Castle/Arose - Genius two track story from Revival that is an amazing concept, but both tracks need to be done as one reaction, play one into the other. 👍

I took it as he's so good that he's both 1 & 2, and "Who do you think that 3 and 4 spot's for?" after he named Big and Pac, so I figured he was naming them as 3 & 4.

In 'Till I Collapse he lists Biggie and Pac as numbers 3 & 4 in his list of GOATs. Might be a reach but he could be suggesting Em/Shady is 1 & 2, then Biggie/Pac is 3 & 4

I don't remember where I heard it, maybe on the interview with Royce Da5'9 or the one with Sway, but Em once mentioned that when he writes "every line is a punch line", or at least that's what he's aiming for. He doesn't write wasteful phrases, lines over lines, with just one punch line at the end. Every line is a punch line!
