Great stuff, I'll be starting the covering of my kitfox rudder tonight. Vids like this are invaluable. Cheers.

I just stumbles onto these videos and they are very cool! Thank you for posting these. I build and fly all types of model airplanes and the full scale covering process is pretty much the same as on a dope and fabric, or tissue covered model airplane. Even the small sealing iron pretty much identical.

Thanks for the great videos. I am getting ready to build a Legal Eagle XL and this is an area I am unfamiliar with. While I'm sure you just make it look easy, I think even a novice like myself could do a stand up job of covering my wings and control surfaces. I will be in touch when I get to that point. I plan on building my wings first, with the horizontal stabilizer, elevator, vertical stabilizer and rudder to follow. Thanks again!

Very informative, easy to understand, great series. Is this method suitable to cover plywood surfaces?
@andyhumphrey63037 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is excellent for plywood surfaces. Covering plywood wings and structures with fabric is very easy with Stewart Systems. It is covered in the Fabric Covering Procedure Manual available on our website.

My work wants me to put Ceconite on. 1948 Cessna 170...one of the better videos on this technique..slightly different, but a great reference!

On the second surface with the large glue area around the perimeter the video does not show the glue being wiped down. Is it not wiped down like shown in the previous video?
@marcwebster78835 жыл бұрын
whoops it was done at the end... so the initial glue is not wiped off but the secondary is...

Ekobond does look similar to the Ceconite process. Way back it was actually used with the Ceconite STC before Stewart Systems had an STC.
