Protip, don't remove your visor until all the slag is removed from the weld, stainless shrinks fast as the weld cools and it can cause the slag to pop off, you'll learn the hard way when some pops off and sticks to your eyelid x.x

@@elijahbates9643when I was in welding school my teacher always told this and no one listen one day slag caught me right in my face and a few days later a kid got hit in the eye by a piece and since than everyone has listened😂

@SebastianRoss-Guarino I've had it arc over my protective glasses and stick on my temple or shoot and stick on my lip. That one hurt. I definitely keep my hood down, now

There’s a crater at the end he could’ve filled it in better but other than that yes it is a great looking weld

That is a pretty weld, eh, but what is it I need to know to get started?? I missed somehow. It appears you used a 19/47" 6092 rod cast steel rod. Did I guess correctly?? But that is a pretty weld. I am glad YOU know what you're doing.

Anyone else have problems with your automatic darkening lens not working? Takes a second to darken and then shuting off mid weld? I changed batteries.

Graduated from trade school in spring. I’m currently mig welding at work. I really miss stick welding. I kind of hate argon cause you have to work in a hot sawna condition

Is welding stainless stick the same as regular carbon? No special gas?

The Flux on the rod generates the necessary gas composition. That’s the best thing about stick welding.

ideally you should use a dedicated stainless brush. a regular steel brush may contaminate the stainless and start rusting. for the purpose of this demo video, it doesnt matter
