The plaintiff used to be friends with the defendant. However, the plaintiff gave the defendant money for a few summer trips, but she hasn't paid it back, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff begged her to go on the trips even though she informed her she couldn't afford it. The plaintiff knew she wasn't going to pay her back, so she shouldn't have paid for the trips if she wanted the defendant to come.

It it's a loan then it's supposed to be paid back. If it wasn't made clear that it was a loan then that's the fault of the plaintiff for not stating that. I wouldn't loan someone hundreds of dollars and take the loss because they assumed that it was a gift. I typically give away lower amounts to homeless people from time to time.

@@lkain619That’s totally different, your friend would be out that money either way. It’s like when a friend couldn’t make it to a concert we bought tickets to and we agreed to give the other ticket away since there’s no refunds, and she agreed to offer to a mutual friend of ours bc better for me to have fun with another friend than waste the ticket and go alone. Like, if someone agrees to pay beforehand, sure, but it’s not fair to assume after the fact.

I have never asked a friend to loan me a thing, and I never will. As for the plaintiff asking to borrow the defendant’s daughter’s prom dress, I’m not cool with that. Even if she DID wear your skirt, your skirt is just a skirt, whereas a prom dress is something special, so I can understand why she wouldn’t want to loan it. Why are people ashamed to say they had gastric bypass surgery? I can almost guarantee that's how she lost the weight and the reason she now has medical issues. I just wish people would be more transparent. If she did lose it just by eating well and working out well then I'm the a-hole, but I very highly doubt it. I knew someone who lied about having bariatric surgery, and I feel that doing so kinda gives overweight folks a false sense of hope. There's nothing shameful in having surgery. I appreciate the defendant bringing her skirt back on a hanger and not stuffed and wrinkled in a bag. She seems like a good friend. She has a problem with her leg and if she's having surgery she can't work. I think that if someone tells you that they can't afford it, don't press the issue of them going on an expensive trip with you. I never understand how people expect payments from someone who has no money. I would not have taken her on the trip because it's obvious that she can't afford it. The plaintiff seems like she has a lot more than the defendant, and she should've taken someone else. Oh! That's right...she couldn't because they weren't messing with her. I also agree that you should try and pay something if you owe someone. At least $20 here and there shows good faith. It's not good business if you don't. Now you can never borrow money if you ever need to. I say your word is your bond...so just try your best to honor your word.

Amazing that the Defendant reached that weight loss goal. 👍 It's time get a job and stop living off of other people and making excuses.

plaintiff is a giver; the defendant is a taker! it wouldn’t have hurt her to let her friend borrow that dress?? her daughter had already wore it to the prom anyway…

Totally agree, but when you think about it she openly admitted her mom taught her to not borrow other peoples clothing so im sure thats why she did not lend the dress to her

The daughter was not willing to let her have it since she just wore it. Prom is a special time in teens life just like a wedding. Not the same as wearing an everyday dress or skirt.

Just because someone looks able-bodied, is able-bodied! My husband stage 4 cancer, to look at him, you can't tell, but he hasn't been able to work in years. Although I feel the defendant still needs to pay, reasonable time is also based on the circumstances.

Do not tell me she didn't get gastric bypass or some type of weightloss surgery. 170 lbs in 2 years, that is very difficult. No job, but does have all the time in the world to lose weight. Nah she spent money on those surgeries, but didn't have money to pay her back. By the way, no shade to the surgeries she looks amazing! Just be honest

@Lenasevilla-yb4ei 🤣 um no! Like I said though she is beautiful. My husband is a personal trainer. I know what it takes to lose that amount of weight. Just her response shows she didn't want to say what she did. I don't care, just don't lie.

@@Web19814 but you’re not a personal trainer and everybody is different. I’ve personally known ppl to lose more weight than that in a year without surgery so her saying two years is way more than enough time.

@Lenasevilla-yb4ei Hey if you're going do the work, do the work. If you're going to get surgery, say you got surgery. Personally, I don't care either way. I would love surgery, but... I know plenty of people that got surgery and say they did it all natural 🤣. It's not like surgery is a piece of cake, it isn't. Just be honest.

If I can afford to give money as a gift they can’t have it. Loans between friends can go really bad.

I hate when people say if they had it, they would pay. Make an attempt to pay something. And if you can't afford it, don't go or say no.
