Piston was destroyed in this motor. What you can do when a new cylinder head is not an option. I show you how to recondition the old one.

Most cylinders nowadays have a nikasil coating instead of chrome. It's a tough coating that protects the cylinder. Glad to see you got this saw back up and running again. Thanks for sharing 👍

Good info about that coating. Thanks for sharing it.

Just the cheaper saws have nikasil, the pro saws still have chrome

Do you have a video of full disassembly? I just got a 271 and I always like to know how to properly tear down and repair all the equipment I own. But I can’t seem to find a full tear down video on the 271 anywhere.

Sorry that I disappointed you. This saw like most came to me with a box of parts already removed. I don't have any video of it anymore. Just don't have the space to keep them all. If it helps any at all when working on this model. It's easier to remove the carb and head as one complete assembly rather than taking everything off on the saw individually. I do quite a few carburetor jobs like this as well.

@@CaptFerd not disappointed at all, thanks for the info. Just surprised that seemingly nobody on KZfaq has a 271 year down video!

Another way to remove that bearing if you lack an air chisel is put thr whole thing in the freezer for several hours, then heat the bearing with a torch. Ive actually dropped press fit wheel bearings in place by hand with the opposite... freezing the bearings overnight and putting the hub in the oven.

Thank you for the video, I need to tear mine down. How is the reassembly video coming?

If your talking about the cummins its finished. I have hours of video to edit. So much that Ive been breaking it down to smaller parts. Like the carburator rebuild and governor install. Thanks for watching and subcribing.
