Carravagio16 Glad it helped. I think she will be very happy with this model. It is very lightweight, And the best thing is she won't have to worry about mixing gas And trying to start it. My dad just got A electric blower And may get the electric push mower as well. I will be doing more reviews on the electric line as we get it.

I did this for the City and the first day my boss pulled up behind me and he caught a little pebble right up his nose. Weed wackers can whip small rocks at high speed. It can really hurt.

Oh, my! You posted this months ago and nobody has replied? Let me help. First, be sure the battery is installed all the way in. You will hear a second click when inserting the battery. Second, I hold the handle grip in my right hand (not that it matters if you’re left handed or right handed) and use my thumb to move forward the slide button just ahead of the grip position while the palm of my hand depresses the lever on top of the grip, then my fingers curl around the grip to depress the speed control lever. That should start the trimmer spinning. Once it starts, there is no need to keep the sliding button ahead of the grip depressed until you completely release the grip which causes the trimmer to stop spinning. I hope this helps. Any Stihl dealer should be happy to help you with this as well.

I can see where you are coming from. I thought the same thing at first. The cut is smaller than my old gasser, But the electric is lightweight. It is not for everyone. So far my wife likes it and she continues to trim around the trees. So for that fact alone I love it. Helps me out a lot. Lol

@@steiger256 Happy for you - I am using all type of trimmers gas (not functioning now - It's matter of honor either I will fix it by myself or I will throw it away) and electric (cord needed) and finally if need a quality hay a have scythe (silent, up to to 2000 mm cut wide :), no batteries, only your internal power needed )

Trisha Presnell We have been using it every week now And no problems at all. If you get into really tall thick grass it lugs it A bit But it will cut it. So far we are happy with it.

You take off the plastic cap by depressing both sides like you would do to replace the spool of line. Then remove the spool of line and in the middle down a inch or so is a retaining ring. Once you remover the retaining ring the whole head slides right off.

To remove the head (eg if you’ve accidentally had garden wire tangled in and underneath it!) you need circlip pliers and replacement circlip. It’s the one piece of criticism I have for this otherwise brilliant little machine. I purchased the replacement circlip from a dealer - the item number can be found on a spec sheet pdf that can be Googled.

I am going to restring it soon. They did not have the string I needed at my dealer the last time I was there. I do know they make spools already wound you can just snap right in that is pretty simple. They cost more money tho. I will just string my own. It's a little my time consuming, But it is cheaper in the long run.

Dan Not sure if you got A bad battery or something. We trim light grass And have Been getting around 25 minutes run time. She said in some heavier stuff it doesn't last as long. They do sell the bigger battery for more money. I knew when I got this they told me the battery would not last as long as the big ones. This is the smaller electric trimmer, They do make bigger one's wirh more battery capacities for more comercial use. They do cost way more tho. If you got lots of big stuff to cut I would go gas tho. I'm curious if anyone else has one how long are you getting out of your battery? please let us know.

That was a really good question, I should have thought to show that when I did the review. No it is not variable speed. I just went out and checked. The more expensive models may be , But thit model is not. I will be doing another video really soon more on details about this trimmer, And testing the length of the battery life as well.

Chris Evans garden services jones Jones that's 17 mins of trigger pull time not all together time.... I have about an acre of land and it did me just fine in 1 charge... Actually started clearing off more of my land with it to see how long the battery would go... I got about 20-25 mins out of it, your not using battery unless your pulling the trigger... It messes with people who are used to starting there weed eater and using it for however long but it runs the whole time... This only runs when you need it and it did just fine for me
