In this video Agan the Ripper is freehand milling a large diameter Ash log into Live edge / Waney edge slabs with his Stihl Ms661 chainsaw with 36'' Bar.
This tree was felled about a year ago as the stand were contracting Ash dieback disease.

Hi, I just bought a 661 for firewood and some milling and I find the way you do it is actually very smart. It's the first time I see it done like this. Is it less hard on the chainsaw you think? nice video, you got a new subscriber.

Hey Steve, yeah man they use them in indonesia, i'll be making all sorts for my homestead, tables, shelves and anything you can think of! Will be making vids on some of the stuff im making, in the process of setting up a traditional circular saw mill too and will have loads of forest stuff coming up! thanks for supporting, do you use a chainsaw yourself?

@@agantheripper yes, l have. Echo. Stihl, some 45yrs and going strong. But l mostly do land clearing for homes. I have never tried any kind of milling with chain saws but l want to try some in the spring it’s still winter in New York where l am l have the idea you are not in the U S A or maybe I’m wrong but my hobby is growing blueberries and l have a small farm l am building , and l have many spruce, hemlock, maple , birch. And black locust trees that l can cut thanks steve
