I love the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS 2019 here. My Dad lived on a Dairy Farm & His Parents & Brother Raised Crops too And Harvested them. My Dad Worked in a Saw Mill for years in the Thumb of The State of Michigan. Then Owned His Own Saw Mill for 5 years . He loved Working in the Saw Mill & Cutting Down Trees. My Dad taught his 3 kids growing up in the 70's & 80 'a all about Trees. I will never forget none of that either That is a Treasure & Great & Happy Memories of My Dad. RiP Dad William " Bill " Spaid 2011. You are not Forgotten. I watch this STIHL Timbersports 2019 & I am thinking of You Dad & Grandpa Spaid. A Uncle of mine too Worked at a Saw Mill too for awhile. This is Very Hard Physical Labor Work. Thank You to all of the Men & Women who Work & Chop & Saw All Those Timbers. Thanks A Million.

Unbelievable sport. This manages to have a better transmission than bodybuilding and strongman events! Look at this quality. Everyone involved in this should be proud
@mattboyer74663 жыл бұрын
Totally agree about bodybuilding, but disagree about Strongman. It would be great to see this at a larger level. Also, you have a cool name.

judge is blind on the lentz hot saw
@AdderTude4 жыл бұрын
Wow, Matt Cogar knew the second he dropped the third disc that he screwed up by letting his saw bite into the wood again. Hot saw is all about controlling the rig.

That dq of Jason Lentz was just a defect in the wood. You can even see the same defect in the remaining log.

Can someone tell me what axes they are using at 18:30? I would expect these to be Stihl axes but they are not listed on STihl website, as far as I know...
@anthonyoswald22054 жыл бұрын
Louis Jolliet there’s lot of different professional competition axes but one major custom company used by a lot of the major timber sports competitors is Tuatahi axes, stihl doesn’t sell any axes of such purpose.
@louisjolliet33694 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyoswald2205 Thank you, good sir and yes I did find out about the Tuatahi axes. They are gorgeous instruments but difficult to find where I live and likely crazy expensive. Too bad that Stihl doesn't produce things like that.

Something about Scheer's attitude really grates on me, idk what it is. Sorry, but Cogar will always be MY champion! I know he's probably not crying with his 6 trucks at home, but he deserved the win here imo.
@AdderTude4 жыл бұрын
He didn't win a truck in 2018, he won a Harley motorcycle.

They need to fire the blind refs in the hot saw portion what a horrible call. They must ref in the nfl games also.

When they done away with pole climbing, dropping accuracy of a tall pole, and log rolling, I lost some interest in the sport. Those were the real skills of the loggers of the past. Today it is nothing more than a high tech show. Most of the equipment used is exotic to say the least, and not used in everyday logging. To be true to the occupation, they should use the same equipment that is used everyday, and not custom made high tech designed equipment. This just my personal opinion.

All of these tools can be used everyday if you want them too. I’m totally with you on the old school stuff, I really enjoy watching the older videos. In the reality of progress some things just don’t succeed unfortunately. I still enjoy watching these sport specific thoroughbreds run though.
