Thank you so much for making this- Tom Robbins has been driving me crazy for years now (and I love it). I myself have just finished all of his books....... I could go on endlessly I think....

Thank you so much for the comment and sub laundry girl (haha). Much love for that! Anyway, how has Tom Robbins been driving your crazy? Because I feel the same way! My career ambitions disappeared, how I approach love changed, and I became a more spontaneous person after encountering him. What is your favorite book by him? If you ever want to chat about one of his books via phone/email or even do a podcast on Tom I'd be down! Peace! - cattanachvoid@gmail.com

Just finished reading it, and what a journey... Still Life with Woodpecker has been my travel companion for the last month, I've been traveling all around Europe and reading a bit of it everywhere. The nicest part is that a lot of synchronicities started to happen, like the universe started to turn art into reality. I found myself in a sail boat in Italy, in an attic with a full moon in Spain, packs of Camel started to appear everywhere, the back of the ticket at Kafka's museum is a Redheaded princess, the part where Tom writes with his handwriting at the end, where he talks about mystery and love, a very important person had said the exact same thing to me the past week. So nice, the universe is amazing, what an author, it's one of those works of art that make you wonder "How can someone write something this good?" I love you, I love Tom Robbins, and I love everybody that knows what happened to the Golden Ball.

I have a son who is here because of an obscure Tanuki parachute reference from Villa Incognito. I have big thumbs like Sissy Hankshaw, seen Pan in his stinky pelts in Spain, met Kudras and yearned to find a bandaloop den. Like the wire has gone live again, feeling the two-fold of the myth the archetype the moon and the interplay of being a human part of the many planes.

I’m a Christian and I love novels about drugs, the occult and anarchy. I was still able to identify with Bernard in this novel. That says something special about the writer.

Never heard a more relatable thing in my entire life. These books contain the veils that separate me from my tricksters and gods. Anybody think its strange with all the shifts coming through that the FIRES burnt Lahaina to the ground? Whats really going on Tom Robbins? What did you do when you had Bernard drunkenly burn the ufo festival? This is so deep.

I also read the "rereading still life" review articles you mentioned, it eeked me so much. I don't understand how people can be so pretentious and prudish. "Those who shun the whimsy of things will experience rigor mortis before death" istg. thank you!

Thanks for the comment Lainey! Agreed. People need to lighten up. The Artist Manque trope dominates all stories and a skilled novelist like Robbins having fun should be refreshing.

My uncle gave me this book, an oversized for poor readers book I held this book for years and then lent it to my cousin. 15 years later I was travelling through Mexico and in Bara de Navidad there is a book store-Beer Bob's book trades' I bought the same book for my girlfreid---no THE SAME BOOK!!!!! My student card from 15 years prior fell out.
