my 2016 scion ia has a 9+ second 0-60 time and I don't have problems merging. I initially did but you get used to it and you become fully aware of where every single car is on the road around you, and can predict way ahead of time where everyone will be. It's like magic and feels like a video game.

I did find the review of the European 2023 Mazda CX-60 to be an exciting precursor for the 2024 CX-70 to come to the US next year! Can't wait! 🙂

Absolutely. I bought a 22 CX-5 Signature and absolutely love it. I like the looks of the CX-5 better than the CX-50, and I didn't need the extra cargo room that the CX-50 has.

I just bought a ‘22 Turbo in snowflake pearl. The CX-50 is more expensive, noisier, interior appears cheaper looking and although I first loved the looks…not so much any more. The CX-5’s changes for 2022, seen and unseen, make it a world class SUV that the average person can afford. I love it! It’s garage mate is my ‘21 MX-5 RF Club BBR. Yes, I’m a Mazda fanboy..lol

Who cares about the back unlesss you’re a 6’2 driver with regular passengers of the same height? The back is for the kids and they’ll be happy with the rear usb ports to keep their phones charged.

@@paulm2467 I *am* 6.2" lol. The kids are a head and half shorter and already cramped when I tried them in there 3 times in the hopes of making it work, because I had my finger on the trigger on 2 deals. Once a new one where the trade in didn't sick, and another, used turbo one. But then I got cold feet because the trunk is strange and narrow. There is too much hollow space where you'd think it's just the wheel well, but they did a bad job trying to recouperate at least some space. Other brands get closer to the wheel and shape the interior around it. Mazda went lazy and basically just put walls up. Result is a narrow trunk. Plus the trunk is slanted, robbing more space. You might as well drive a Mazda 3 in terms of space. Another argument against it is that is the worst in fuel economy of all the choices. I happen to pick the best in fuel economy instead: the Rogue. The Rogue has a TON more space in the back, and the trunk is bigger and you can pile more stuff in there. The vc turbo is sweet and the cvt, contrary to criticism is awesome. It can keep the rpm humming nice and really silly low. Driving light footed yields good results. However, playing with the turbo's acceleration does make it thirsty really quick. Anyway, yes, the CX-5 drives with more feeling. I actually how light the steering is on the Rogue and is actually my preference. The Mazda does let you become one with the road more so. Oh, the Rogue soaks up bumps nicer. The two cars are for a different audience. If you have people you need to move and stuff to take with you (eg. kids' sports), then the Rogue is the better choice. If you want driving fun, and don't have people and stuff to haul around, then perhaps the CX-5 is the better choice. Honestly, for reliability, I predict that the Mazda will last longer before running into repair bills.

@@Antiorganizer fair enough it's not for you, I've had 6 footers front and back without a problem, the space in the back is massive for my usage but obviously other people have different needs and priorities. The Nissan rogue isn't for me, I've come from a Lexus and it's just too utilitarian. I also value reliability above all and I won't buy anything other than Japanese, I've been burned by Mercedes, Volvo and BMW in the past and it will never happen again.

@@paulm2467 In Canada, the Rogue SV and up all have a VIN starting wiht J, made in Japan. So I drove in in sport mode just now. Not much turbo lag. A little, but much better than standard drive. It takes off pretty damn fast, faster than a regular CX-5 for sure (not the turbo one though obviously). But Volvo is supposed to be pretty damn good though, not?

@@Antiorganizer used to be, now they are over complicated, like the Germans, and too many things go wrong. That Nissan should be better if it's made in Japan. I'm not a fan of turbo's I prefer a bigger engined normally aspirated car, the engine is under a lot less stress.

At least they don’t produce ugly cars just to change it up. Audi has followed this approach for decades. All their models look very similar and don’t change much for like 10 years. When a car company designs beautiful cars like Mazda and Audi it’s a recipe for success.

I think they are conceiving cx50, cx60, cx70 and cx90.

Hey if something works and looks so good why change it?
