We all have our opinions and preferences when it comes to football boots, but one thing that can't be denied is the popularity of the Nike Mercurial series. Both the Vapor and Superfly have been industry leaders for as long as I can remember, and not just because they look cool, but because the boots are actually really good, especially as of late! With that said, Nike just released the Phantom GT, the Puma Ultra 1.1 looks promising and Adidas is going back to their F50 adizero roots with the X Ghosted, which begs the question, is the Mercurial still the king?
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Daybreak pack colorway of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite, discussing whether or not it's still a top option, especially in the "speed" boot category. Every major boot brand is trying to convince us that "newer is better", but is that actually true? Let's talk about it. Would you still pick the Mercurial over newer "speed" boot options?

I just picked up a pair of the vapor 13 elites in this color, and I must say, on the pitch they look very flashy and super bright. If you like to stand out on the pitch I highly recommend this boot.

Honestly this is kind of unpopular but I like the vapor 12s a lot better than the 13s. For me the 13s are just too stiff on the bottoms and plasticky on the upper while the 12s just feel more free to me. 12s work a lot better on AG as well where the 13s have studs that are just way too long for AG. Anyone else have similar opinion or nah

I've thought 2 things that I think it would be really cool to see in the next gen of mercurial 1: carbon fiber soleplate (one in the forefoot and other on the heel cause splip soleplates are cool) 2: nikeskin uper on academy takedown (textured like phantem venom academy)

In case you accept the opinion of someone else as help. Non is better, it is up to how your feeling in them. Both are good for Academy models. Because one is leather and one synthetic you have a good base to make your decision on what you prefer.

Tbh. The previous mercurial vapors are better for me personally. Both shoes are great but the new vapors seem to not get as soft or mold to my feet as well as the past mercurial. Which is sad because they are my favorite pair of soccer shoes

I have tried the mecurial vapor 13s a lot and used the phantoms but for both the side of my foot (the inside of the boot) sinks into the side of the boot. Its really uncomfortable only there. Do you think it will be better to go for an Adidas speedflow .1? My feet are quite narrow

Hi Jonah/any other viewers would you recommend the Adidas 11pro to someone switching to leather boots from the Vapor 11 and are they better than the Tiempo legend 6/7/8? Also what is the difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen and which is better?

They won't feel anything alike, so regardless of which leather boots you go for, it will be a very different fit and feel. Some of the 11Pros were OK, but I'd take a Legend 6 or 7 over just about any 11Pro. Even a Nike Premier 2 wouldn't be a bad option if you're looking to try leather boots for the first time, but don't want to spend a ton of money.
