Sono sempre felice di leggere che, si, non sono l'unico a pensare che la vera Italia sia rappresentata al meglio da realtà come Navelli e da tantissimi altri borghi che, come giustamente scrivi, sono ahime a volte sconosciuti ai più. E' un hobby che mi diverte molto e spero di continuare con questo ritmo per molto tempo. Dopotutto, la lista dei paesi italiani è praticamente infinita... Glad you enjoyed it also Navelli dear Esther. Indeed, I checked again and it’s abour 500.. In fact you can see very few people around as well; most people went away, many old people are staying though and fighting for this. I could see some locals, but not many.. but there are some. Mostly it’s becoming a tourists town. I could see many people from other cities having bought a second home there (could see from their accent) and just many second homes under renovation

@@KerrisonA agreed! I saw unfortunately only a family with young children and their were there from Milan (heard their accent). Not many young families unfortunately living in such towns, due to many reasons. One of the most sad state of Italy actually; I don't know what will happen when the older generations living here won't be with us anymore :/

Dear Geraldine I was actually sure you would have enjoyed Navelli. Very beautiful indeed and such a mix of abandoned and renovated parts. I suspect in a few years investors will fix most of those houses.. the location is fantastic as is the town itself. A gem. Abruzzo is becoming more and more a favourite of mine now as a region)

@@StillWanderer a me sembra che buona parte del borgo stia venendo recuperato. C'è la parte a Nord est che è disabitata da tempo e il piano regolatore prevede una sorta di giardino pubblico entro le mure della case dirute. Speriamo.

@@3nonva Si, tantissime case erano in effetti in fase di ristrutturazione. Ho sentito in giro molti accenti di altre regioni: tante seconde case da quello che ho potuto notare… Credo che col tempo il paese riprenderà l’antico splendore. Il terremoto del 2009 è stato comunque decisamente devastante

Querida Maria, estou feliz em vê-la aqui novamente. Sim, fica na região de Abruzzo e muita gente ainda mora lá, mas como podem ver muitas casas infelizmente estão abandonadas. Tentei filmar numa casa mas os donos não gostaram muito... mas vou tentar da próxima vez, com a permissão deles. Muitas vezes vivem nestas casas pessoas muito idosas e infelizmente são desconfiadas... Mas é um país verdadeiramente bonito. Desejo-lhe um bom fim de semana e espero vê-lo aqui em breve, como sempre

Good question actually Clark. Many people don’t live there anymore, apart from some locals that I could see, it’s mostly second homes or generally older people live there. I could see several but it’s not surely a crowded town. If you think that only 500 people live in such a “big” town… it’s becoming a touristic town indeed.
