I assume this band is performing with a lot of different drummers during the event, so probably don’t always know what to expect going in. “So, a 13 year old wants to cover ‘Seven Days’? Ummm, ok…” and then about two bars in, “Ohhh, OK then!”

It’s one thing to be able to jam with the original recordings.. it’s another thing altogether to hold the song down .. and not just any song.. an odd time song with seasoned professionals as well.. and that groove was real.

This kid has turned into one of the most formidable musicians on the worldwide block. I wish she would never leave the U.S., as the opportunities that exist for her would be here in America, right? Not anymore - all opportunities are working there way to her. Simple fact ~ she will earn this trophy. Just so sick and tired of watching Ingenues come in off of some fame trip, American Idol and believe that the band will come to them. The band of the century - not hardly a chance. I cannot wait to see the top musicians and bands come to HER to record their music. She will be a formidable leader in the industry, not one doubt. Drummer on records, or recording engineer, or producer ~ this Yoyo is set for the throne in the music industry. Parents have kept her safe from moguls who want to use and abuse her talent for profit - excellent job they have done! Nobel Prize efforts to keep this kid sheltered and focused on her passion. They too, have shown incredible business and wellness sense ~ power to them and prayers. Best of luck, kid ~ and cheers to the family!

So unrehearsed the bassist suggests how she will come in, the singer asks for the count, then the basist falls into Yoyokas groove so easily that she casts a smile, the guitar and keyboard player decorate the mood and speaking of smiling that guy in the front row with glasses was grinning from ear to ear the whole time and the whole thing is flawless first take. That's the Yoyoka Effect.

This is astounding. She looks like she's been playing this every night with this band for ages, and yet they did it with no rehearsal. Wow. This is why Yoyoka will be very highly sought after - she masters the track in very little time, she is extremely consistent and yet can improvise when called for, and she will show up sober and on time lol. Those last two points are actually more important to some top-level producers than the rest in fact, as a friend of mine told me when he went to Las Vegas to do session and live work.
@NonEuclideanTacoCannon
@NonEuclideanTacoCannon 9 ай бұрын
Made me remember an anecdote I read somewhere or other. In LA in the 80's and early 90s, certain hard rock/hair metal bands weren't able to actually play well enough to record. They would show up to the studio drunk or high, fight amongst themselves, and refuse to play more than a few takes. They also had obvious ego issues. So, after the band would leave, the producers would have this guy called The Technician or The Mechanic or something like that come in and re-record each track. For every instrument. He'd nail it first take. So many classic LA hard rock songs from various bands are all played secretly by this one dude. I have no idea if it's true, but it sounds plausible.
@Glen.Black.
@Glen.Black. 9 ай бұрын
It is! She is light years above many professionals that have to do a dozen takes to get it just right. When she came to Las Vegas, I was with her when she did the recording session for Led Zeppelin's "The Ocean" with "EllenPlaysBass" (Ellen Alaverdyan) and two other local musicians. She had just met Ellen a couple hours before in Ellen's studio. They just toured the studio, no practice or playing, went to get an ice cream, then we drove over to the studio. YOYOKA and Ellen walk in, not in the least bit nervous, the other two were practicing, and a bit nervous. YOYOKA is now meeting them for the first time at that moment, YOYOKA tunes her kit, Ellen, tunes her bass, they do the sound checks with the engineer, and without playing or practicing it a single time, they nail it on the first take. Was simply amazing to watch our little pro in action!

@@carbonc6065 You're just a troll, and not too bright. It's a joke, and she didn't just "play well". She's the youngest ever on DrummerWorld's Top 500 Drummers OF ALL TIME (Dead or Alive). There hasn't been anyone like her in at least decades if ever! She made that list when she was 11 y.o.

@@carbonc6065 Wasn't my remark, but you made my point, "putting down" his remark, which is a joke, that you obviously didn't get. Trolls always feel the need to instigate for no reason.

Clearly YOYOKA in her element, getting accolades from her peers who recognize the talent just displayed. YOYOKA always uncomfortable with praise, accepting humbly as she walks off the stage.
