Sting Mönchengladbach 2019 - Shape of my heart. Juice WRLD - Lucid Dreams

People cheer during juice's hook, people loved lucid dream too. (Both are great songs)
@SobrietyandSolace Жыл бұрын
I think it’s a fitting tribute. Sting liked the use of the interpolation even if they didn’t clear the sample, so I think it’s only fair if Sting performs a verse and you’re right, the crowd clearly loves and respects it as well It’s a really nice unification of two artists across genres and generations, taking a classic song and reworking it into something new. That’s great, just clear your damn samples/interpolations first!

Maybe Juice could have thought of writing something in this context. With all due respect Eminem without that pop chorus on Stan...the music isn't set up at all. His ears are great, but that song really changed his career.

@SubVet842 жыл бұрын
You're right, I'm not an artist, but I am a lawyer that specializes in copyright and intellectual property violations. So I am somewhat qualified to speak on this part of the issue. I never stated that Sting sued. Let me clarify with a qualified statement... If Sting was my client, I would have advised to go for 95%. On the other hand, if Juice had been my client, I would have advised a deal of 50%. I do think both are talented artists, I'm not discrediting anyone. I just think legally, Sting was holding all the cards because of the melody. That doesn't make Juice any less talented.
