I was A WWF Fan back in the 90s And didn't watch WCW very often But even I could remember what I did Sting was one of the best things about it And I think it's great that when WCW went under And eventually was purchased by The WWF Is that he didn't jump right over like most the others Big names did, Great to see he had such A Long career

Stings long career is something to be admired indeed We also were watching wwf and loved it as well from 1997 to 1998 WCW was the show to watch but it started to go downhill afterwards. When wCw was bought we were sad initially, but we realized afterwards it was for the better. Regardless I am glad i was able to watch wrestling during its golden era and I am glad you did as well mate 😀✌️

This was excellent. You need to make more of these mini documentaries. I remember watching Sting way back in the early 90s in WCW. Me and my friend used to fight with his lex luger and sting figures - I always lost 😂. Great video bro!

amazing memories! you’re right about the Sting persona being iconic. while I didn’t grow up watching wrestling I would always pick him on WEW vs NWO on the 64 because of how bad ass he looked and also like you mentioned he’s got a bit of The Crow vibe so that added to the allure for me 🔥

Awesome bro i knew some people like that who didnt watch wrestling or not wcw wrestling but owned some of the games and they would pick sting as well that is good stuff mate ❤️😀✌️

Thanks Ghost his white make up and trenchcoat was known as the crow gimmick, basically his gimmick or persona was very close and similar to thr crow (movie) and really that is when his fame took off. Glad you liked it ✌️😀

Nice video buddy I never knew much about Sting so enjoyed this an found it informative, always a big deal to me hearing that outside of the ring or whatever a person is most known for that they are decent in day to day life, he seems like a genuinely nice guy, thanks for sharing Raza.💪🦂🍀

He was definitely a cool icon. He also resembled a bit of the crow. I’m not sure if it was intentional or not. Great video Raza and thank you for sharing those memories man

Do you remember that short lived hulk hogan tv show called thunder in paradise? I remember sting playing a bad guy in atleast one episode. I remember reading that sting got into the business with the ultimate warrior. They were a tag team before warrior went to the WWF.

Thunder paradise the name rings a bell but i havent seen it myself no. Yes Sting got into wrestling with warrior that is correct and were friends pre wrestling, I think prior to getting in sting had no intention or even thought of wrestling

@@raza_is_retro you need to watch that tv show, lol. Proper 90s cheese. I think it's set in the Caribbean. Somewhere exotic. Hogan and another guy play some kind of ex special forces that takes on the bad guys in a futuristic speed boat. I definitely need to watch it again. Just good cheesy fun.

Sting was a favorite of mine, but I did spend more time watching WwF at the time. The surfer sting was not real, I refuse to believe it. It never existed! 😀

Glad to hear he was s favorite of yours, we also loved wwf but around 1997 to end of 1999 we where watching more wcw than wwf, but in 2000 i was watching more wwf, at that point wcw was down right horrible, but we would still tune in to hope it would get better haha Regarding surfer sting he was a myth haha to be fair it was a good gimmick and he did that gimmick well The crow gimmick was really the ulimate gimmick and imo the best gimmick of wrestling

Absolutely LOVED the transformation into "Crow" Sting!!! The tests of loyalty (where he'd drop his baseball bat then turn his back) could come at any point in WCW television broadcasts. Sad they abandoned that part of his character...I think Sting testing Bret Hart or any of the cruiserweights would've given them the rub they needed in the company. The storylines would have been much stronger than the endless NWO infighting 🙄
