Q&A (answers to often asked questions regarding this SAL)
Q: How much border to leave?
A: I left approximately a 1 1/2" border all the way around in case I didn't get the design centered. I error on the side of it's better to have too much fabric, then not enough.
Q: How much border for the biscornu?
A: I will cover this in the finishing tutorial. I leave a 1/4" border AFTER I have backstitched the border and ironed on the fusible interfacing.
Q: What floss colors did you use for the Spring Basket biscornu?
A: I have an instagram post from 4/16/24 that gives you the conversion.

I love the idea of converting a chart for biscornu. I can see this as being an addiction😆 I haven't bought the chart, 'cause, you know, I've got a bagillion other things to sew & stitch. I've been seeing Chantelle's progress and now, I've paused your video and ordered the Spring and Autumn Basket. I plan to use stash for them. Yay!

I have watched most all your SALs but have not joined for one reason or another. As I watched this one, I was intrigued but worried about creating the final product. As I see everyone's beautiful progress on the stitching part in the Facebook group, I was inspired to purchase the patterns and give this a try. I'm using aida, but if all goes well, I can see attempting with linen as well. Thank you so much, @NicholSpohrLLC for creating/hosting these SALs.

Thanks so much for doing SALs and teaching for new stitchers to be able to follow along. This will be my 3rd cross stitch project, I finished 1 and am almost finished with my second one. The term frogging was mentioned during this video, what is it?

thank you for joining in! frogging is a term used when you make a mistake or error and have to go back and undo or tear out all your prior stitches.

Hey I do have a question about a different subject, I need your advice on a mat cutter that cuts circles and ovals with various sizes, any help would be great, I did try to email you, but my email was returned. Love how yours are turning out! I’m wondering, if I use 14 count Aida, will I need to line it or put interfacing on due to the larger holes in the cloth?

No matter the size I use interfacing to protect the stitches from the filling and to help the design keep it's shape.

I am intrigued by this SAL. I have stitched three of the seasons of the Triple Play Pillows. I still have spring left to stitch. i was not attracted to the purple and i think that is why I have not stitched them. I love your pink conversion so am going to try and kit up today. Now my decision is do I want another group of pillows or try the biscornu. I love trying new finishes so I am thinking the biscornu is the way to go. Or I could always stitch them twice. I have followed some of your other tutorials so I know the instructions will be the best.

Shouldn’t we include the border in our stitch count in order to allow enough fabric?

You can but as I talked during the live, it won’t make a huge difference and we will be cutting this fabric down for final assembly. I am showing exactly how I took a non biscornu chart and altered it. When I started mine this is exactly what I did. You can always add extra stitches when figuring your fabric if you want.
