I started Karting back in 1968 and quit in 1977.Too damned old at "60" but it still gives me a rush just watching you guys. Shifter karts were not even thought about then but the speed was there though. A "C" open could easily hit 110 even back then! It sure takes me back. The Enduro races we did at the "IKF" Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Wheeeu thats a long time ago LOL! Awesome footage, great video!

One idea - when passing getting a tow/draft get far off line as fast as possible (straight) - or make it part of passing move - to prevent him from simply doing same. Ideally as early in straight as possible to reduce means to get in yours and cumulative effect at end of straight.

I was wondering what engine and axle sprocket do you guys use for big track road racing in a shifter ? I'm going to race on a big track for the first time next weekend up here in Canada with my TM k9b and I don't know witch sprocket i need to buy for big track like this. I'm currently using a 17T for the engine and a 22T for the axle and I know it his too short since I only do short track normally. Since both are 428 chain they should be pretty similar. Just curious ... Nice driving by the way !!!

@latitude45 жыл бұрын
Check the Woodbridge kart club. They have all the info.
@jordanr39182 жыл бұрын
I race these karts with Woodbridge and the national road racing series. Definitely the cheapest mph per dollar you can get. You can find these karts for around $3-5k and expect about $500-600 a weekend to race. That's including wear items, track fees and rebuilds. Biggest expense is tires at $250 every 3 weekends (less if you wanna be more competitive), fuel + oil around $170 a weekend for 10gal and then engine rebuilds every 10 hours! Let me know if you really want to get involved. It sounds expensive but if you look at costs to race scca it's much cheaper.

all these comments and no help... seems like tire pressure could be dropped by 1-2 psi, smooth turns and for faster exit speed take the turn more wide with a little more throttle and if possible move about 3-10 lb as far forward if ur feeling too much fish tail. lastly id say is your drafting, get way more close before you exit the draft to pass, straighten out as fast as possible and just pin it, if required then break slightly later, btw lower the frame as much as possible and same with the seat but not to far to cause it to drag. best of luck!

Skaife Ward 120 130 depends on how you Gear it it can possibly go faster fuel also plays A Part but that's what's so fun about these sky's the limit with modifications the only thing that puts limitations on it is the regulations in the different race classes but if you own it and you just take it to the track to mess around or Buzz up and down the street sky's the limit
