A new major release of Stockfish is now available at stockfishchess.org
Stockfish 15 continues to push the boundaries of chess, providing unrivalled analysis and playing strength. In our testing, Stockfish 15 is ahead of Stockfish 14 by 36 Elo points and wins nine times more game pairs than it loses.
Improvements to the engine have made it possible for Stockfish to end up victorious in tournaments at all sorts of time controls ranging from bullet to classical and even at Fischer random chess. At CCC, Stockfish won all of the latest tournaments: CCC 16 Bullet, Blitz and Rapid, CCC 960 championship, and the CCC 17 Rapid. At TCEC, Stockfish won the Season 21, Cup 9, FRC 4 and in the current Season 22 superfinal, at the time of writing, has won 16 game pairs and not yet lost a single one.
This progress is the result of a dedicated team of developers that comes up with new ideas and improvements. For Stockfish 15, we tested nearly 13000 different changes and retained the best 200. These include the fourth generation of our NNUE network architecture, as well as various search improvements. To perform these tests, contributors provide CPU time for testing, and in the last year, they have collectively played roughly a billion chess games. In the last few years, our distributed testing framework, Fishtest, has been operated superbly and has been developed and improved extensively. This work by Pasquale Pigazzini, Tom Vijlbrief, Michel Van den Bergh, and various other developers is an essential part of the success of the Stockfish project.
Indeed, the Stockfish project builds on a thriving community of enthusiasts to offer a free and open-source chess engine that is robust, widely available, and very strong. We invite our chess fans to join the Fishtest testing framework and programmers to contribute to the project.

Openings don't decide games: complex tactics do. That's where the 900 point gap can be found. With strong enougth tactical ability you can play any opening you like.

Do I need a GUI for Stockfish 15? If so, can you recommend one and where to get it?

I use Fritz 14 which lets me choose the engine. Stockfish 15 doesn't have an interface it's just a move calculator.

Personally I feel it's very hard to admit but being a Sicilian player against e4 is more suffering than any of top opening. Since in this engine era most of player come prepared and in whole game black just suffocated from g h pawns .I observed my past 1 year games I found that in Sicilian most of the games I was always worst , bare minimum I was able to equalise the game .I love to play attacking that's why I don't like e5 as tool against because of long theory battle . Nowadays trying to play french don't know whether it will work in long run or not

Sicilian is known to be sharp, one wrong move by either side and it's game over. It's a good opening for either a very well prepared player like MVL, or for blitz.

@@raylopez99 I totally agree with you .MVL is one of top level player who heavily plays Sicilian especially Najdorf but I in now a days playing myself found that any time I am in endgame found myself in worst position . From MVL the only game I remember or Haunted me most is previous candidates round 8 Caruana Vs MVL

@@priyanshukumawat4142 Very true my friend. In fact even MVL lost when he forgot a line in the Sicilian (this may be the game you are referring to vs Caruana). In engine play, the Sicilian is considered unsound for black, actually so is the French. I think the Grunfeld, the Nimzoindian, and of course the Berlin and some systems in the London are still not refuted at the highest engine level. As a low expert player however, I have fun playing all the openings since at my level and probably yours, you can play anything, even gambits, and it's fine.

@@raylopez99 actually I was referring to the game where Mvl accepted poisoned pawn variation and was hell lot material up but the novelty that caruana played was totally unexpected .I am also a low level player who plays lichess but when I join a event and play Sicilian with black I am unable to manage a win a lot of time that's why I am trying french nowadays the thing I discovered is french is itself is bad from principle valuation but after 10 12 move both are out of prep and both player play descent game with a counter attacking chances for black . I am loving french .

@@Jozarovschesschannel No. Honestly it was just amusing to me as an English speaker (though I do speak Spanish as well) to hear you pronounce this as 'clovver' we would pronounce it clo-ver. I really enjoy your channel and I know that like me you are a big Kasparov fan. My style is similar to Kasparov (not as good of course) and we almost share a birthday. Keep up the great work. How much do you think computers are influencing modern grandmaster play? I am only an 1800 player and I don't think computers have encroached on my play too much. I tend to play very much as a 'human'.

Fischer was right. Computers have killed chess. Nowadays, it's a memory contest. No need to calculate, just memorize opening lines to have an advantage.
